  1. No point in complaining about commentating , editing etc, they don't take blind bit of notice.
They believe the rest of the world are stupid, it really is turning people away from this rich boys and hangers on game😮😮

  2. Why does everyone hate the coverage? It seems fine to me. Y’all may have noticed there’s quite a lot happening at the same time all over the fleet. Positions change constantly and incidents happen all the time. It’s about a balance of arial overviews, boat-on-boat convergence and on board close ups, multiplied by 12. Plus finishes, and the more spread out the fleet gets the more fragmented the coverage. Historically, this is the most in depth coverage of any yacht race ever. Y’all need to get a grip.

  3. The course concept might need a rethink. 6 wide at the first mark in marginal foiling conditions is a death knell for 80% of the fleet. The whole stadium thing is cool, but it’s getting ridic.

  4. I've been watching sailgp since day one, and I've got to say they seem to be heading in the wrong direction.

The coverage seems worse then ever.

These short courses are not as enjoyable, as it takes away a lot of the ability to pass. Also, it makes the race so short. I would much rather see three longer races that around 12 minutes, than four short races around 8 minutes. Sure, I understand having the odd short course, as a championship should have varying courses, but they are most rounds now and it's getting boring.

I do not know of a single championship that has an eight week gap between the penultimate and final rounds, just does not make sense.

Guess we will see where things go, but not loving the direction SailGp is going.

  5. Interesting how the distance sailed varies. The top 3 sailed 5.4km, and most of the rest sailed an extra km, around 6 and a half, roughly 20% farther. That does not care about off the foils, but the choice of best angle.

  6. Lots of people complaining, but this many boats following all the rules of Right of Way can be very complicated on a course where everyone is following different invisible paths of their own is not easy. And the helicopter can't jump to another view at the speed of light, it has to guess where to be. Maybe these complainers haven't sailed very much. This is not race cars on a fixed track.

  7. The add i saw was far too long and total bullshit. In my country it would be reported to the Commerce Commission as misleading. It brings disrepute to the SailGP franchise

  8. Just watching to see if USA crashes. Buckley is a CLOWN and Canfield sucks. Owner should see a sleeping giant if those Tylenol babies weren’t involved.

  9. There are more teams on the course than the Black Foils and the Bonds Flying Roos (with an occasional mention to GB. A bit more balanced announcing would enhance your coverage

  10. Thats it, I'm done. I can't watch anymore of this.. I am a sailor and racer and even know some of the crews but Sail GP have successfully turned this into a really boring spectacle. Its all about the speed across the start line, and crashes, nothing to do with tactics, not that Todd Harris would understand the beauty of a tacking duel if it hit him. I even went to the live event in Portsmouth, which was good, apart from Todd Harris trying to tell a crowd of sailors what was going on.
Dump him, make the courses longer and the sailing more exciting.

  11. Better racing than expected which was great BUT the coverage still needs a lot of work. Bewildering choices by the producer over which camera view to choose, ludicrous cutting away from scenes just before something interesting was going to happen.

Something needs to be done to improve what to show. We missed way too many key points in all of the races and instead sat watching pointless onboard shots (of the Flying Roos in particular) which did nothing to improve the understanding or excitement of the race.

Need to get this fixed – it's been long enough

  12. Why oh why do we commentate over the whole onboard radio – Kiwis talking reset button and commentary just verbal diarrhoea over the top.

  14. Am I seeing that correctly that GER in the last race literally dropped from 5th to 12th because they fouled FRA and they dropped back to 11th so GER had to essentially go back behind them to clear the penalty? And then never managed to get through the fleet again?

  15. This series has the worst TV sailing coverage in recent history. Apart from not knowing that boats ships and planes over 98% of the world use knots for speed the director has no clue what parts of the race are interesting.

  16. Am I the only one that doesn't like being yelled at by whoever that one announcer is?!?
I mean, Im all for coffee and caffeine and what not… But, I would prefer abit less 'enthusiasm' I think… Good god…

  17. Yeah best part of watching the race? Turning on MUTE!

They do have index on the video so you can FF to each race start and eliminate the media noise 😊
