  1. Would be interested in knowing if you were required by insurance to get your training? If so how many hours do they want you to have? We may be in the same “boat” as far as needing that…. Scott seems really good. Would like his contact info too.

  2. Soooooo much better than a van 🎉 And good to identify possible leak origin. 👍🏻 I must say, everyone looks in good spirits……and “mom” looks the happiest as she compared her boat galley and living room to the van. It will all work out. Happy for you guys. 🔆🌊💨⚓️🛥️🌞🔆

  3. There is something very calming about the sound of wind and rain outside. Glad you found the source of the leak and hopefully it will be a straightforward repair. It is fun to see you with three generations of family on board. Have a great week ahead.

  4. Awesome video! It’s a good thing to have found the leak and make repairs. Hope it’s all repaired. Wyatt and Logan are adapting to the boat like pros.

  5. When you folks hit the Hudson River please reach out to us when you are near the Kingston NY area. Great stop over. My wife and I are retired law enforcement and are willing to shuttle you out for supplies or take the kids to the park. Also Kingston was the first capital of NY and there’s lots of content. Jay Creature.

  6. Tip for your checks in the engine room. Paint a dot about 1 inch dia at every spot where you need to monitor temps with a IR temp gun. I use 4 different colors for my hourly, 6 hour, daily and weekly checks. That way you measure at the same place each time.

  7. it sounds like u guys might be first time boat owners?? would be interested in hearing how you were able to overcome the boat insurance challenge. along with which insurance co u are using and price for your 48', thx in advance

  8. Remove “damn bow thruster” from your vocabulary”. Bow thrusters are a luxury that will often fail you. In my worthless opinion, he was correcting your approach to show you the line you should be on. When ever possible, maneuver your vessel without using the thruster as this will familiarize you more as well prepare you for when (not if) the thruster, pops its breaker, gets something wedged, or all out fails.

  9. It looks so cozy making meals and just living normal life while the wind and rain wreak havoc outside! Of course, discovering the leak puts a damper on things (no pun intended) …and leaks on boats can be endless rabbit holes of frustration, since where you SEE the water leaking inside is often nowhere near where it’s actually coming in. 😱

  10. This is a prime example of what's wrong with YT and it's siren song of fame and fortune to folks that would embark on an "adventure" like this. To heck with no mechanical skill set or seamanship or navigational skills. Let's just do this and figure it out as we go. How many knots do you know how to tie and which one is the proper one for the application. Do you understand what a proper rode is? Have you taken a Coast Guard safety boating course? Can you repair fiberglass? Where is your abandon ship plan and have you practice it? How are you gonna set an anchor or dock with one at the helm and another tending to a child? I could go on & on but I've already waisted 28 minutes of my life that i can't get back. And why do i care?? I dunno….maybe it's because of the two young kids that have no dang clue or didn't get a voice in your narcissistic decision. You are a Coast Guard rescue waiting to happen. But hey….that'll probably get you more likes and money, right??

  11. Not all marina water is potable i.e., clean and safe to drink. Also, you want to minimize organics and debris in your fresh water tanks to keep them (and you) healthy and fresh smelling. You should have something like a Clearsource Dockside Ultra marine filter system…always pre-filter your water before taking on board…don't learn the hard way, your heads will thank-you lol. Good luck

  12. Remember on spare parts one is none two is one three is good four of everything is best so you dont get stranded with out the part you need! Carry extra pumps and fittings and bearings for everything!

  13. Fixing a leaking window can range from not-a-big-job to a very big job, but they're very common. Usually its a removal of the window and sealant and re-bed them. If you're lucky you can reuse the window you have, if you aren't lucky you have to find a place to get you new windows. It'll be a PITA but its completely DIY-able. Now that you think you know where its coming from, wait until its dry and then spray that window with a hose on the dock and verify. You might be able to smear some sealant on from the outside as a temporary fix, but make sure you put the real fix on your list of todos.
Also, some boats have external window covers. If yours came with some it would be worth fitting them to the leaking window when you aren't at sea.

  14. Sad people aren't honest when they sell something it's obvious they knew and it's probably 1 of the reasons they wanted to get rid of the boat too bad you can't make them pay to have it
    fixed def should contact them.

  15. Some anchorages provide better protection than marinas, just like marinas can offer dramatically different levels of protection from wind, chop and swell. Don't assume all marinas will provide a restfull sleep in all conditions. You can look at the chart for the amount of fetch and read reviews to find this out.

  16. I hope you fix the leak. Try using small 9×9 microfiber towels to clean your windows, they work so much better. Thanks for taking us along!

  17. Well, you guys are awesome I enjoyed watching baby is beautiful didn’t see enough of Wyatt I don’t think but he’s probably awesome to you guys will get it done. I hope you enjoy your new life. Be blessed in everything you do and put your hand to see you later literally right
