  1. Nice boat, but I have never seen anyone showing how to access the engine. I need to see someone accessing the elling 6 engine, then I will buy that boat 😅

  2. I watched a YouTube video that followed this boat from the EU to Newfoundland, Canada and to Maine. It did well to traverse the Atlantic. I like the boat but am not enamoured with the access to the auxilliary or main engine. You need to be a emaciated midget to fit into those spaces. I think this boat is more of a weekend warrior that is designed for marina maintenance and short comfy trips.

  3. So much potential, I would want better access to the engine room. Put one bunk in the third state room with washer and dryer under the bunk. Put lots of batteries in the "crew cabin". More freezer space where the w/d currently are.

  4. At trawler speeds (7-8.5KTs), the range should be 3000+ nautical miles, Elling demonstrated transatlantic capabilities with a pair of E4's. I would add a Sky Sail (kite) to stretch range even more and she cries for more reefers for food storage.

  5. I hate to think the mess you’d have on a self righting boat. Unless you were belted into a helm seat there’s a good chance you’d have a head injury. I’d say the best design is one that prevents a full rotation. Did you say what it’s constructed of?

  6. You'd have to be a really low grade human to expect a crew member sleeps in that crew cabin/electrical room, especially during an open ocean passage. Probably/hopefully not even legal beyond at anchor.

  7. Absolutely beautiful boat and a great tour. The E6 is sadly out of budget for me, but a used E4 is maybe an achievable dream. Very well presented and informative, thanks!

  8. Elling E6 Beautiful, and self-righting? How can you go wrong? With accommodations that can take you around the world and home again in creature comfort. "at 9kn. you can make it 'almost' across the Atlantic ocean without having to refuel"?* (lol) And the last leg? Elling E6, for those who are serious about crossing oceans, in… style
    Thanks, Ben* for the tour

  9. Elling are an astonishingly capable boat builder and this E6 is certainly an example of why they are so highly regarded. This isn't just a 'go anywhere' yacht capable of taking you to any destination in the world with safety and reliability, it is also stylish and luxurious enough to share a harbour with any superyacht and feel no inferiority.

A lot of vessels with the same kind of capability and redundancy systems feel utilitarian, but this Elling has such stylish and comfortable living space that she really stands out. A truly incredible vessel capable of the great loop in all seasons, or taking you to any dream destination in the world in comfort and style.
