1. Can you imagine you fulfill your dream of buy a yacht then it turns into a nightmare. I'm sure you've heard stories like this before …. very sad for the new owner who then spends months at the yard and thousands of dollar to get it fixed.

   I have been a salt water marine engine mechanic since 1976.

   Heat exchangers get clogged and scale inside and cant exchange heat .
   Typical repairs.

7. You’re backwards in regard to water and coolant pressure. Raw water is under way more pressure. If there’s a hole in the tube stack, you’ll have water blowing out of your reservoir cap. Coolant in your exhaust is either a head gasket or exhaust manifold breach, as you found.

21. I can only imagine what the manifold costs. Probably as much as the Perkins T6.3544M manifold/h.e. tanks did when I was turning wrenches. Then there was that oil/transmission/intercooler setup on the injection pump side….💰💰💰💰😂

40. Thank you for being a boat mechanic. I feel like you guys are a dying breed up here in the PA area near philly. The good old mechanics are all retiring or only work on outboards only any young guys aren't signing up for the trade. We have to take our boats to MD on the Chesapeake Bay for repairs if we have issues up here. It's where the good mechanics are left.
