  1. Cats are great as long as the sea state is glass. Anything beyond absolute flat, it's like living inside a washing machine with chunks of concrete.
Monohull with stabilization is infinitely better as to not even be comparable.

  2. Great camera work Captain I've gone through the tunnels always looking at the aircraft carriers when I get out you gave me a closer view of them which was fantastic, I can't wait for the next video take care captain thank you.

  3. Great Video!! I really enjoyed seeing the Navel Base. So cool. I actually got to go under through the tunnel in a Big Rig with my brother and that was cool and a little frightening at the same time!!! Can’t wait for the next video to see if it’s fixed.

  4. Compressing a 14 hour day into 40 minutes is very cool. Hard for the average person to gauge what a day like that actually feels like.Theres either a level of monotony or anxiety based on weather and sea conditions that’s definitely draining.Ive been on some long boat trips in far less accommodating vessels and it really does beat the shit out of you.Getting to your destination really feels great—a nice meal and some drinks—then sleep like a dead person and start all over the next day and let the Adventure continue—can’t wait to hear what happens with the props…Thanks Will and Lake

  5. My old stomping grounds! My last sea duty was 1-74 to 6-75 on an old ex-Navy ATF, USCGC Cherokee, homeported at Little Creek. Went in and out of there many times. Navigation on inland waters was visual bearings, paper charts, and an old Korean War era surface-search radar. At sea, we used Loran A. Once, propagation conditions were so bad, we ended up crossing a single Loran line with a fathometer line to get a fix. We actually did quite well in the decades before GPS.

  6. Tripping breakers is not good either unless its the shore power. Electrical problems plus shaft/prop problems seem to be a lot for a boat like this, no? Its not that old so Im a bit surprised.

  7. I'm from the Norfolk area and work on that base all the time. Trust me there are military boats all around there with guns ready to go. I'm surprised you didn't see them in your video. They patrol around those ships 24/7.

  8. Love that Norfolk area!! I’m a retired delivery Captain. East coast. You are 100% correct on your comments about being tired from the stress and physical strain on your body. Plus you usually run a twelve hour day plus refueling, engine checks and so on.
    Capt. Butch.

  9. I’ve been boating out of South Florida from Key Biscayne down to Homestead, to the keys and now out of the Lower Keys, all the west back to the late seventies. Watching your channel has either validated what I do or educated me to a better way of doing it. Thank You Captain Will. Keep the videos coming.

  10. To get to Norfolk from the Atlantic you cross 2 bridge tunnels. CBBT Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and the HRBT Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. After you cross the HRBT The Atlantic Fleet will be on your left. That’s Aircraft Carriers and all the support ships that accompany them including submarines. We see them all the time. Safe travels Captain Will.

  11. Not a current captain, hoping to do the loop in semi-retirement in a few years. Seeing as how you've used divers twice on this trip already do you/have you consider using one of the tankless dive systems to be able to jump in and check out the boat yourself?

  12. Really interesting content and well presented. What do the terms and conditions of a delivery contract look like with regard to duration, day rate , expenses, crew, insurance, subcontracts, etc. ?

  13. Hey Will, other than being on one whale watching boat and on one glass bottom boat, my time on the water is very short. I'm not sure what drew me to watch your channel, but I'm hooked (no pun intended). You explain your thought process, not only to people who are experienced boaters, but in a way that even I can understand, except the docking part, that still blows my mind.
I have the upmost respect for anyone who can talk to people to help them. You DO NOT talk down to people like they should already know certain things about boating, regardless their experience level. And that's what makes you one of the best on the water.
    Thanks for the ride Captain.

  14. What a beautiful morning. Your camera is really good; almost 3-D looking at the green buoy in Chesapeake Bay. I'm thinking a tomahawk coming at you at Norfolk. Ouch. I went to a couple of business meetings at one of the Norfolk Southern HQ buildings in Norfolk. The view of the vessels and channels was gorgeous. There used to be dozens of decommissioned naval vessels near Martinez, CA in the Bay Area.

  15. I like all your videos and do practice some of what you do on my MSFS Yachts Sim and Thank You and stay safe on the waters. 😊

  16. Will, you said that cargo ship was 4.6 miles away What is the least distance you would consider safe to be away from a ship ?? Obviously other boats/yachts will be much closer, but what about full size ships ?

  17. Those old Navy boats that are not used anymore are still staffed, not fully, and maintained, such that in a national emergency, they can get those vessels into service fairly quickly.

  18. with a bent prop shaft, you might as well check if your shaft hull seals are still keeping sea water out of your associated hull. Owners might have hit a sand bar at some point . Great video , thanks.

  19. Hey, Will. Great video. It's fun to watch, and I'm learning so much from watching. I have a question if you see this and have insight. I wrote a comment a few months back about a boat you saw in Naples, I think it was, in which you thought was a Back Cove, but it was actually an MJM 40z, my favorite boat, if I could ever get one. My question is that the 40z is one of the few boats that over the lifespan of the build came available with sterndrive, ips, or outboard power options. If you were getting one, given you have the choice of power, which would you get? I know they each have advantages and disadvantages, but overall, which would be best? Thank you, and keep up the good work!

  20. newish viewer and deffinitly enjoying Capt. Very curious if the prop change will help. I had a similar issue on a single screw (much less complicated). The switch worked for vibration but then realized my trans was slipping too lol. Good Luck

  21. We are currently on the C&D canal for hurricane season. tossing lines 11/16 for Palm Coast Florida. Enjoying your videos and looking forwaed to living them again onour boat. Thanks for taking the time to share
