Beautiful boat.
Well apointed
The cabins are awesome
Are you looking for a Monohull?
🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏🤛👍🦅😎🇺🇸
Lovely Boat Nick, great review as always. Really liking the aluminium boats. My copy of the book arrived and reading through it, well written and great book. Thanks as always Nick. PS Just one criticism is the FOV on the Pocket camera isn’t really wide enough for boat reviews imo, would be best using action 5 cam or version 4 from DJI, add a mic mini and the FOV and sound would be amazing.
Mo la miseria…..bellissima! ma di alluminio…
What a beautiful boat. The current gen of alu boats that are being designed right now have really taken a huge step up in regards to their interior. They feel really airy and modern.
The closest thing in an automobile world is land cruiser.and im actually surprised that it is not as expensive as it looks( i know its not cheap) but if you take a 51ft boat from a good maker (not mass-market) it will be around the same money…
Surprised that there was no panels on a arch
Thnx for the review
Not the nicest welds in that bow locker.
Please do a bunch of Catamaran reviews. 🙏
So when are you buying one? 😄
If you capsize the boat it looks like the swim platform will make it almost impossible to get to the life raft. Great review Nick
Very good boat but still no protection for the helmsman and no interior steering position. Amel got that but the hull is GRP. So my choice would be a custom alu monohull from one of the Dutch yards. It's not about the money, it's about surviving any weather.
Go anywhere boat? I wouldn't want to go into cold climates with just fabric above my head.. No protection at the steering positions.. The back of the boat looks very messy… Too many weirdly positioned pulleys, etc… not to my liking..
Engine looks like a Nanni option installed not a Volvo, unless they are just using Nanni engine controls at wheel pedestal? Seems like Nanni engines taking over from Volvo and Yanmar for many sail boats lately… sure is a nice monohull and having shaft drive is very nice to see. Grand Large Yachting doing well with their various brands.
As a landlubber, I will never need a boat, but I appreciate beauty and multi use engineering so these boats impress me. This boat does not impress me as much as some of the others. The comfort and ease of flow is not up to the level of some of the others, probably the price point reflects that. I do greatly appreciate the engine room layout.
Since you recently received an Amel 50 (60?), how does this boat compare in your honest opinion. Thank you.
Nice boat, but I can't believe y'all would be going back to a monohull.
I saw the 51.9 in Annapolis last year. Hard to get much better than that for the price. Rugged exterior with luxury interior and fun to sail. You can put a work bench in the storage space by the engine room. Allures has a new design 48 in the making; looking forward to seeing it.
you mentioned high latitudes, rough sea sailing, yet island beds. How would you sleep in those island beds in rough seas? is there some contraption so you can wrap the beds in leecloths?
Excellent walk-through. And what a magnificent SV. Has everything you'll need for offshore and going around the world.
You do such a great job with these videos. Thank you!
On my list 🙂 I'd love to see you review the Pegasus 50/67 if you get a chance.
Great review! This yacht looks ready to take on the world in true bluewater style. 💪
👎🏻🙄🤦 💯 % ADD. SO SHAMEFUL
Nice boat,, great review. Only gripe ould be the liferaft storage, a bit difficult if the boat would be inverted
We have ways of making you say aluminum.
Is Nick selling boats now 😂?
Great boat Nick. However you should have gone next door and made a video as well of the MCP Explorer 68 it was berthed against. I'm guessing you didn't as you see 68 feet as outside your buying power. However, they are also Alu explorer yachts and something to behold inside – true Superyacht. Well worth the visit / video time as I bet many viewers would love to see one. Maybe next time at a boat show?
Innovative.
Great and beautiful aluminium sailing boat from France, but my favorite is still the Garcia Exploration 60, from the same French shipyard (Grand Large Yachting), built in Cherbourg (they don't just make umbrellas you know)
I don't believe that any serious high latitude boat, other than a round the world race boat, should have twin rudders. They're totally unprotected by the keel and therefore represent a huge safety risk that for me, outweighs the benefits. Equally, a true blue water sail boat should have a keel stepped mast. I would look at the very best designs for blue water boats, such as Kracken or Amel and ask why these boats have single rudders and keel stepped masts and if you want a blue water cruiser to cross oceans or sail in higher latitude, pick one that mirrors those design features.
