That's the best looking/layout I've ever seen – great review!
Lars, the designer, is a very knowledgeable and smart seaman. He knows how efficiently a hull should run and it shows.
Delta make great carbon fibre cruising boats, but sadly seem to to slip under the radar somewhat.
Great tour Hugo.
My personal fave is the Delta 48, does it all, with the same subtle efficiency… 👍
I enjoyed watching the video 😊
Great Scandinavian interior design and performance but too many sacrifices to the G.A. make a very tight machinery space that'll make service and underway running inspections a burden and will shorten the life of all onboard systems. Love Lars designs but the whole thing stops when the machinery can't be maintained easily.
Delta are one of my favourite yards. Great looking boats with performance and (relative) efficiency. The 72 delivers in the same way from what I can see; love it!
Brilliant tour as always Hugo, thank you.
I just don't get it. They do all this, to get a light fun boat, carbon fibre hull etc. And what do they do? Fit it with IPS… Aside from old deep shaft drives, if there ever was a drive that signals, if not screams, the absolute opposite of high performance, powerboat and excitement, it is the IPS drive. This should have been a surface drive boat, not IPS. What a shame. So tired of seeing builder after builder choose the same dull lazy solution again and again.
You forgot the range 🤦
Yes please. It's good. 👍
Very minimalist and stylish, but so it should be for almost £5 Million. Hey Ho.
That representative sure couldn’t be bothered to move his fa out of the way of the showing 🙄
Amazing boat!
I would 100% forego the tender garage to allow more space in the engine room, Great looking boat though.
This is lovely. I toured a smaller Delta in Annapolis, a few years back. The price points are…"woooooo ouch "
He said he would talk about engine and range once he went back on deck… no mention of range whatsoever 🤷♂️
Thanks for sharing this super slick boat.
What I can't understand with these designs is that they are millions of pounds, yet VIP's are expected to crawl on all fours into bed as there's no room at the side. Plus, there's no headroom in either cabin. The 3rd is a waste of time. I do not believe that lifting the headroom by 6 to 12 inches would compromise performance. Especially as this won't be travelling very far and fit a seakeeper if it rolled a bit more. Disappointing.
At 72ft, I'm not impressed with the layout or cabin spaces.
A lot of compromises to make it lightweight
With the caveat that all I know about boats (I'm an aviator) is what you, Alex, Jack Haines and Aquaholic have taught me, I do know a little about carbon fibre. This is a popular material for aircraft as it is very stiff and light. It does however have some downsides: very stiff structures transfer impact to the humans aboard and it is not easily repaired. Also, I wonder about the effect of its lightness on seakeeping, since Alex has previously stated that greater mass means better seakeeping in rougher water?
Nice …pity about the arrogant ignoramus though
