#sailing #18FootSkiff #dinghysailing #foiling #Yacht #YachtRacing #mothclass #hydrofoil #foilingdinghy #budgetmoth #australiansailing #portphillipbay #McCraeYachtClub #sailinglife #weekendwarrior Ronstan Sailing → https://www.Daronmic Design.Ronstan Deck/aup Skiff)→ https://www.damicdesign.com/deckgrip Mulinete Norfyx Technology (12FT Skiff) → https://norfyxtechnology.com/ Susține canalul: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/c/TomStuchberySailing

I’m a simple man, I see 18ft skiff I like.
These things look like a lot of fun. BGLB ! Big guy , little boat and ripping ! I’m gonna put some tramps on my sunfish so I don’t have to endless sit ups .
What is the stick off the bow bouncing off the water ? Is it just some sort of height gauge?
I like watching these Moth boats in action… They take a bit of practice & skill to keep them going, but they really scoot along once they get going!
Awesome, so fast and not even hiking! Good call not to get too close to the eighteen. I managed to get run over by one, felt very lucky to be alive.
Looks like a serious physical workout. How was it getting out of bed the next day?
Absolutely fabulous footage 👌 you come a long way since your first videos
Beyond stupidity…
Like this comment if you want to see tom sail the 18
Sailx, now that is a blast from the past!
Loved that game!
My heart was racing watching you go fast. But in a good adrenaline high kind of way! I see why you complain so much the next day 😂
you should make a catamaran out of two moths. it would bother so many different people and be annoyingly fast.
If you've never seen the 18 foot skiff Nokia clip look it up here on you tube, I think it's in NZ in a serious blow and they've got everything up, it's classic gutsy old skiff racing at it's best. It's also a great old clip for the commentary, i forget the Aussie fellas name but he was a well known commentator back in the day and his skiff commentaries were some of his best
Absolutely Epic!! What was your top speed for that session? Must have been 26+?
In the upcoming big races Tom I think you will have to minimize the tacks and gybes 🙂
Great to see all that dedication and enthusiasm paying off so handsomely!
Such matchups can be great fun but, whilst never scientific, I think you need to be on the same tack in a similar wind zone.
There was just once an 18 at my club, and I found to my surprise I could pace it upwind on an elderly Div2 borad. Of course when they bore away I didn't see which way they went….
I WANT TO FOIL SO BAD!!!😂. Someday 🤞🤞
Thanks for the ride Tom ✌️
Wonderful onboard video! Take more hikeout to gain more speed😁
what's with this bogus idea of pumping the mainsheet? it doesn't increase speed. And….have you not heard of a camcleat? cleat the main and then tack. You're too baig to make it under the boom in time to do a real efficient tack.
Nothing like coming home from an intense day of exams and watching Tom's new video!
Brother hang your arse over the wing and HIKE.
loosing a bit of weight might help you get under the boom when going about.
i sail wazps very similar. you need to turn smoother and faster. but then get across faster. it is hard.
What was the conclusion?
