AIRLOCK! Always look forward to your videos, Keep up the awesome work !
WOW I'm an engineer living on a 57' boat and for me this video is epic, can't wait for pt2.
Back again hope we can sail back
Great video, love to watch you work. You do however need to put something on screen, or flat out say at the start of the segment in your videos when you are doing a promotion or advertising a product which is sponsored or an affiliate. I believe both you and the company you are representing can catch trouble for not being transparent about that.
Keep up the great work.
just cut the bolts of in stages, then insert studs with threadlock leaving enough protruding to accept a nut
All that tight engine work and no plumbers crack in video well done.
Nice work, man, you have amazing patience! Not a job I would be willing to be take on. Keep on keepin on.
I'm an Engineer, so this type of video is great 👍
I didn't know marinas were basically communal workshops. It makes perfect sense as to why it works that way, it just never occurred to me.
Such a great channel. Love how you prioritize tasks and move to them based on part orders and installation time. The zincs spacers doubled the surface area and obviously had plenty grounding surface. Looking forward to the reassembly in the engine room and replacement of “both” water intakes. The maintenance and mechanicals are also the reason I stay glued to the channel. You are an impressive young man with one hell of a work ethic.
Great looking shaft
On a passenger boat I worked on the signs in our heads said ' don't put anything down this toilet unless you've eaten it first' lol
Partying with your buds and hanging w ur gf are cool vids, but the engine work and maintenance videos and the videos traveling back and forth to FL are my favorites. Looking forward to part 2!
Gus, I like every video you do. I like the mechanical and the traveling ones.
Nice to see your buddies helping out!
Can you do cost of owbership on your ship
Keep doing the mechanical thing. I sure hope the oil cooler stops the glycol leak, and it's not leaking from the head gasket or a liner o-ring.
Young man, your skill level is beyond impressive! I’m sure mechanical stuff just came naturally to you your entire life? I bet you took apart your first lawnmower at age 5?6? In any case, it’s a true honor watching you work. So impressed.
Regarding your new head, how about installing a bidet seat? You won’t need to use a lot of toilet paper and will feel fresher than you’ve ever felt. Also, how about a waste management system? Raritan makes a great one. The unit is small and will help dramatically with smells, clogs, etc. I believe it also purifies the water to allow for guilt free discharge into any body of water. Here’s a cut/paste of the unit’s name: Purasan EX 2 Treatment System, 12 volt | Raritan PST12EX2. And no, I don’t work for them!
Glycol is important to stop pitting on the cylinder liners .
yes I LOVE this kind of video! this is my life every day man props to you for doing the work yourself, too!
You are an amazing kid. I'm an old mechanical engineer and work on my own boat as much as possible, but some places are just too constricted for an old man like me. I envy your youth, knowledge, common sense, enthusiasm and flexibility. When you get tired of doing stuff for yourself, I am sure you could make a fortune in the boat repair business.
I watch for the adventure and mechanical video.
Awesome video, you’re a hard working young man. Keep up the good work and videos kid.
The stamina of youth.
7:47 You Have to Love how people who don’t own a boat, never worked at a marina and mostly likely never even rigged a boat before are the first to get out their bullyboards opps I mean keyboards and start telling you the guy we have watched rebuild boats, how to do things on Your boat. Hey keyboard warriors wake up, if your watching a channel for a purpose like boating most likely the person in that channel Knows More than you about that subject. If not find a new channel.. love this channel
It seame like that airlock thing is a ozone generator. Not really safe to breath.
Aluminum hulls always worried me…. Looking at a burger right now. Pleased with all aluminum??
Maybe I'm thinking to simple, but why not start by cutting the bolt off. You can try going back in with shorter bolts, and if they don't give you enough purchase then undo all the mounts and everything else involved. Just a thought, to late now I'm watching the vid so you already did it.
My bad , should've watched further and wouldn't have made the previous comment.
THAT ELONGATED BOWL IS A THING OF BEAUTY! I think a cried a little…
Repair and restore is the very best vids you make!!
I don't know where to begin or end commenting on his incompetent tinkering. First of all, lifting the engine WITHOUT checking if there are any fixed points left. Second, the oil cooler with a screwdriver on the sealing surface…🤦♀ in the video, you can see two threaded holes; you screw two bolts/threaded rods into these and push the oil cooler out evenly without damaging the sealing surfaces. A quick internet search might have revealed the problem with the oil cooler cover bolts beforehand, because you're certainly not the first person to encounter this. If I were you, I'd check if you damaged any more pipe and/or cable connections by lifting it. Your comment about what a professional company would have charged you is, of course, the icing on the cake of this tragicomedy. Good luck next time.
Not joking, you are a great example of why I still like Americans. Thank you, Gus.
I've been saving this for a time when I could watch it from start to finish without interruptions. Loved every second of it. Looking forward to part two. It's all about having the right tools and of course the know-how.
