  1. Boats are NL people second home! I Bought my boat in NL and i was beeing ther for 3 years before moving my boat to the Baltics.
I learned to love that boatlife in NL!
Btw. its a common thing to raise the "uno" flag on the backstay if you are single handed. Itll tell people that you are alone and always accept a helping hand.

  2. Sam! I’m inspired to comment on this one just to say the presentation of your whole adventure and story telling are great fun entertainment.
Well done! You make it (making good videos) look easy, & I know it isn’t (& solo!😅) ❤ML

  3. KUDOS!!!! Having done some of that journey in a long keel, but with the wife as crew, I can only say we'll done, especially with all that traffic single handed. I can't wait for your Dutch marathon, next year did you say?

  4. We are so spoiled having all this on our doorstep here in Amsterdam. The Ijssel and Markermeer are like a big cruising training area. The towns on the west side are so cute. Marken, Volendam, Hoorn, Enkhuizen. It does get choppy with the shallow water.

  5. Hi Sam, another excellent episode. I was in Marken and Volendam in April (25) (got there by bus, and ferry between the two). The weather was incredible. A mirror calm with blue sky. The lady on the kiosk in Marken said that it is always windy there and that the weather that day was very unusual. You could not see the horizon on the water. I guess it would be a great place to sail…so thanks for taking us along.

  6. Cool beans post production, and filming, Sam! You gotta come back to see 'what looks like the Caribbean, the Maldives and the Bahahamas' here in the Netherlands, we got it all lined up mate! LOL! Looking forward to your next adventures. All the best, Cheers, Rob ^^ (Vlissingen,NL)

  7. Nice video, reminded me of on of my favourite holidays, two weeks, Westerley Longbow from Levington to Holland, Horne was the first place I tried Duvel's, what a night. Loved going through the canals

  8. Well done Sam
Good video and it looks like a fantastic time to visit.
That engine is doing well with the hours your putting on it.
Looking forward to seeing your next video Sam

  9. Lots to enjoy in this video Sam, loved the Sail Amsterdam footage and great to see Gipsy Moth IV looking stunning. Great shots of Stowaway thumping along! What a fantastic trip you’ve had, and thanks for taking us along with you.

  10. Well done, great boat, great video!
And don’t worry: the Sail Amsterdam event happens only once every 5 yrs so next time you visit my country it won’t bd that busy. Thnx for visiting and hopefully you enjoyed yourself.
    Cheers
    Harry

  11. Great videos. Thanks for all the effort. I’ve just started putting stuff together mainly for myself and realise how much work it takes. Planning to take my Snapdragon 24 across the channel and heading east inspired by your work. Thanks.
