You should be fine as long as you understand it's not a 32 ft Sundancer. Anything over 50 you are working not just chilling. As long as you have pretty deep pockets. I wonder how much the replacement costs for the electronics will come in at.
The problem with a lightning strike is you don't know whats been affected. Things will work but that doesn't mean the wires have been compromised. Especially on a boat. You truly want to replace it all to be safe. We all know fire is the scariest thing on a boat. Just wanted to give you a heads up if your not sure what your doing.
Lightning strike? Needs to be hauled, all through hulls checked along with shaft, bearins etc. And glass around ground plates or and metal under waterline. Need to determine where it grounded.
Lot's of fans. I'm not a rec sailor. Does the AC systems cover all the berthing compartments on this boat?

The boat needs a professional survey. There is a danger of lightning "Welds" on the machinery. Also nothingelectronic can be trusted after such an event.
You know this is not your forever boat, try a big one for a change. You’ll be on to your next one in a few years. Just don’t stress about it.

Would love to see a surfboard and toy chest that allows access from the transom . You two could host some sick charters like below deck . The huge crack you saw was directly related from the lightning strike. The electricity needed conduction and they used the moisture in the hull to get to water. The result was blowing out the side of the hull. That boat is DOA!

So,I have zero experience of boat living, but the single engine seems a risk, the fuel use is likely to be high. and OMG that hideous dark wood decor – super ugly! But a minor.

There is an earlier video tour of this boat. My wife and I viewed it about a year ago. It really has changed. It hadn't been stuck by lightning at that time.
It's totally different now. It appears like there's been a fire. I'm noticing smoke damage.
Good luck it really needs a family. There's a easy inexpensive way to prevent damage from a lightning strike.
On our 30' Newport I kept Jumper Cables 20' , 12 Ga . I cut the clamps off one end. And shaved about a foot. I clamped the other end to the Mast Stays and dangled the bare end in the water. We never took a hit, but I know it works. I know of other boat's that were struck and survived with no damage, to minimal damage. Good luck you.
I don’t understand it. I’ve been following you guys for four or five years from your first Traulor that you had single engine diesel and then you wanted to go green. You didn’t wanna mess with the combustible gas diesel engines. You want to use one power you wanted to go green and then you even had your custom-made catamaran built and now you’re going back to be a stink pot I can’t figure it out.🙈🙈🙈🙈

Here's my two cents worth as the owner of a 70' Hatteras that no one told me- over 60' it gets much harder and a lot more expensive to get a slip in a marina. I know you guys anchor out a lot, but just keep that in mind. I love the space of a 70' boat… and you guys can two man that no problem. One of the pluses of a larger boat- you buy so much fuel at one time they will deliver and you get a price break, =-)
