1. It'll cost £7,315.50 to fill her up, not going to be crossing many oceans at that cost. maybe retro with a couple of masts and make a motor sailer. Or could put some oars and get some slaves like Ben-hur days, lol.

  2. live aboard a fix or repair every day. Cost of maintained well run will run about another500K Very exciting project well worth the effort for a guy live aboard her and love this beauty. She will give you great service this is a real boat meant to run and used like a boat not an apartment on water. Buy it

  3. This boat is good for ALMOST NOBODY!

Yes, it can cross oceans, when was the last time any of us crossed an ocean. I live on a 52’ MY in Ft Lauderdale and nobody I know would want this boat.

60’ and not even one queen bed? Apartment-size fridge, and no modern appliances. All staterooms are tiny for a 60. Very little outdoor space, no flybridge, no davit, etc.

You can say it has good bones because of the steel hull, but the layout is a 1970’s disaster. You can’t just renovate this and think it’s going to feel like a “newer” yacht. You have to want this thing in its current layout or the end price will be more than just commissioning a new vessel.

So to answer your question: it’s this price because the segment of the market shopping for this boat is nearly nonexistent.

    Good luck tho!

  5. I like it. Other than some reconditioning and TLC the only thing I would change is seating next to ANY windows. I'd make them another 8-12 inches higher! Adding to both storage underneath, and make for much better viewing. Nice vid. NICE BOAT.

  6. If you've got the money, lots of it, and the time she looks a good project. The woodwork and decking look fine which is a big bonus. The galley is an area that definitely needs looking at. I'd get rid of that unnecessary seating and put in a dishwasher along with decent sized freezer and incorporate lots of dry food storage space. Don't think that you need three cabins either, on a boat that size two are plenty. Needs central heating installing. Don't like your new idea about supplying vital engine room details separately and you don't tell us her range in n/ miles
A full hull survey is vital. Spares availability for the engines?

  7. Great classic…looks like good bones and engines. Owners suit needs gutted and modernized, bathroom designs very dated. Will be a awesome fun project for the right people! Thanks for showing!

  8. Man o man. for the asking price you became 5 off them brand new back in 1974. now everyting is old and needs to be redone 25.000 wold be a realistic offer. All electrics are atleast 25 years old and unreparable. And there is a lot off asbestos on board.
I worked at the same shipyard as mister Gillessen where he was member off the drawing room crew. for 7 or 8 years i spoke with his son and he told me that, afther his father was past away, they have started to clean up the house because it was a massive archief of al the boats he designed in his evening and weekend time. so there are no original drawings anymore. she was the glorie off her days, but now she is done.

  9. There is a reason she is cheap – and I suspect a full out of water survey is in order. The living quarters look OK … but if the hull has electrolysis damage no way. I'm not saying this boat has a damaged hull, but its the first red flag we look for on the surveyor's report. As others have mentioned – those obsolete and parts-no-longer- available.engines need to be replaced. That's in the range of $150k to $250k USD right there for modern US Tier 3 diesels. EU might have different requirements. This is NOT a "cheap" vessel by any means. Thanks for the tour!

  10. Those batteries aren't set up properly at least for Canada. They aren't in waterproof enclosure that is marine rated. Just wrapped in plastic. Fire waiting to happen. The decks either need to replaced or sanded down and re-varnished. The railings to the bow of the ship look rotted. In the wheel house the wires in that hole, are not capped to what I can only assume was a light fixture. Ya the boat needs work. But to be fair, it's not that bad. For that price I would buy it if I could.

  11. Very nice classic boat not worth a million but after some retrofit and natural wood care and upkeep it could fetch half million at most for the right person wanting such a classic.
