The Crew: So here are our options. Be thankful we still have a job and got a bonus for staying on through doomsday. Let our loved ones know we would survive and promise to think of them often. Bring an inflatable raft for when someone gets fired for serving cold cereal for breakfast because we are all out of eggs. Keep taking orders and tolerate abusive behavior from people who were rich and powerful but now just ass hats.
Or pretend to be thankful we still have a job and cash bonus and promise undying loyalty. Wait until we are away from land drag the ass hats out of their beds and hot tubs and use them for bait. Afterwards, go find our families and loved ones and save them instead.
If you are rich enough to buy a doomsday avoidance yacht you are rich enough to have bought an island in the middle of nowhere to park it. Prep the yacht, Prep the island. Is your island high enough above sea level to withstand a 20 meter sea level rise? The only problem is then getting to the island without someone else killing you and that includes the people you surround yourself with. Then there are the people who know about You and your plans. Will they have their own boat, yacht, ship, airplane to barge in uninvited on your "safe island"? Are you ready to kill without question anyone who disrupts your plans and if you do how will the people you surround yourself with view that. Will one of the worlds military powers thwart your plans? Remember after the bombs, disease, virus and zombies are done and gone there will be plenty of military ships staffed with thousands of people. Will their post war/apocalypse government orders be enough to keep them from going rogue? Will they invade your island looking for resources? Because if they decided too you wouldn't stand a chance.
Your best bet is land based. As far from civilization as possible. That means out in the woods in Canada or Southern Alaska where pristine wilderness still exists and it must have a very large amount of prey animals for you to survive on. You will need to know how to use and fire a rifle with military grade marksmanship because every bullet is going to count.
As self sufficient as the fuel tank is full. Until then you’re just a little fish in a big pond with predators everywhere
With those wind assist foils you still need a fair size generator to handle the foils , steering, ventilation ect ect so you are burning at least 100lph . Much better off with a 40 to 60 ft sailing yacht . Can be sailed single handed, not as much stores needed power can be from wind and solar hybrid systems, water makers can be much smaller and you will sail past the big boats when they run out of fuel

They be hoping the satellites keep working, water level doesn't change, survivors from the land does not take it from you, a giant wave don't push you into rocks poking a hole in the hull sinking it, and metal stops corroding because everything corrodes and when it breaks you can't replace it

Parts wear out,hulls need cleaning and painting,zinks, navigation without gps, overall security, bunkers remain more viable, whole communities can be established in bunker system to include power plants,manufacturing,medical facilities and genetic variety for repopulation and socialization. It’s not even close. Noah’s ark is just a story. Inbreeding is nasty and causes extreme genetic defects and an end of a species.
A remote, multi family, high security, self sufficient compound would be the best option for long-term survival. Like an Amish village with a secure perimeter and machine guns.
Navigation is a major issue, without GPS or satellites that may be destroyed or offline, we get back to an era of charts and Sextons… how many have world charts in paper and old school skills?
When do you last practice a crossing with a chart only?
There will be no fuel almost instantly, or longer term, the only reliable propulsion is sail.
So yes safety in that there are less pirates on the sea than mobs on land, but one then has the sea itself to contend with AND without any electronic weather monitoring.
Prepping? Use a boat to move location, it’s safer than on foot… but once at a destination you should have a land based solution.

weather and sea conditions are always an issue on a yacht , as would be piracy or just getting blown out of the water by military not to mention cost , your better off in the mountains somewhere than on the ocean
The bunkers the best thing you have secret passageways that make it seem like no one's there people infiltrate they go in you deal with them the way you want a boat is just something you sink
I'm not rich but i went for the waterworld option on a 53ft trimaran . Still kitting it out , but pretty much the only thing to get on board now is my 8inch chucked lathe and remove the small lathe . Ultimately long time live aboard , it just so happens to fall into the prepper brackets where i can up anchor and just go , everything is here but gawd the upkeep and spare parts you need to carry, never under estimate that .

A lot of liabilities you mentioned can be used against the doomsday yacht, too. There's more issues to have to put with being on the sea in a doomsday scenario.
I don't have any of the money these people have but if the world comes to an end money will become worthless in a bunker how do you protect you self from your security team I do think water craft is a better idea than a bunker you can always fish for food in the bunker the food will run out or people break in

The unfortunate issue for US Plebians is We work our asses off providing for families paying taxes for some of these Elitist whether privately wealthy or stolen wealth from government services The later they can build or be guaranteed these yachts or bunkers while we will perish..probably as it's happened many times before in the past..that could be the main reason the world is so messed up with these self Appointed leaders ..
I got a 24’ Bugout Boat with everything 3 people would need for as long as the fuel runs! 6 mile ride to the island and ill be good! Good luck everyone!
