It’s hard to gage the height of your Stauntions, they look 700mm. I’m returning to my boat in Grenada in a few days with Staunton extentions to raise the safety railing height to 950mm so that solo sailor, me, stays on the boat. I also have the parts to put together a wind vane self steerer, which once proven I’ll put photos out.
Greetings……. reviewing this video gives me a much better perspective on the cooling fin, hull location placement. The previous video (Step 468) revealed the cooling fin installation process.
Please, consider the following. Using your preferred search engine, type: Installation manual, Vetus keel cooler. This is a PDF, go to 6.2 Keel cooling. Based on the Vetus installation manual, the keel cooler packing washers (A) go on the outside of the hull, and the metal washers (B) along with the mounting nuts go on the inside of the hull.
This configuration uses the packing washers (A) to create the "primary" watertight seal against the hull exterior, and the metal washers (B) along with the mounting nuts provide mechanical load distribution on the interior.
