Cool trip. Enjoyed this. I live about 30 miles, downriver, in Florence (the Shoals) on the Tennessee River. Never had the opportunity to make a trip like that. Reupholstered many yachts & houseboats for folks here. Will be watching to check out the Tim-Tom & on to the Gulf of America.
Fantastic video and the cruise's first day. Following seas and fair winds. Good night.
Man all them boats are shiny under that roof.
Keep it up brother! Wish I could learn from a fella like you. Stay strong! 💪
Nuclear reactors glow green. You can watch a research reactor while it’s powered up and watch it through the water. That was a long time ago while at NCSU. They probably don’t let you have fun anymore.
Captain’s coach in my neck of the Woods. I work in Decatur and live off the ELK river.
Super friendly lockmaster LOL
your videos are always a pleasure to watch. your approach is outstanding.
As a bama boy, we always said the best thing to come out of Georgia is I-20 West ;-). Good video, really enjoyed seeing those waters again, and learning the lock tips
I think the catfish ban is due to the DDT residue from Redstone Arsenal rather than the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant.
Very clean boat! First upgrade would be bigger fenders and a bigger anchor.
another ILLEGAL Drone operator using it on youtube . . . sure would be bad for a captain to losing his license due to violating DOT/FAA rules
Holy drop
M there as good as this one above 50 but below 60 feet
So cool Steve seems happy
Gulf of AMERICA!!!!!
Guntersville resident here…really happy to hear you enjoyed our lake. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Congrats Steve ! Enjoy…
👍
Goosepond Marina. Just watched a video last week where another youtuber had just bought a 46 foot Jefferson at that marina on the next dock closer to the causeway. Channel is called TouringToMooring if ya want to check it out. Correction, same dock.
Do you have a standard rate or is it dependant on each trip. Does it cost more if you doing training on the trip?
Another banger of a video… Love it…
Good Job 👍🏾 way to go !
Another great video Captain! Absolute amazing teaching video for people heading to the Great Loop….lakes, rivers, barge traffic, locks and dams. And that is just the first episode. Looking forward to the rest of the trip. Thank you again Captain!
Came through my area and love seeing it though other peoples eyes.
Why not run on plane?
“It is Alabama” had me rolling. I’ve fished and boated all over but have fished Alabama waters, fresh and salt and couldn’t agree more. I learn so much from your videos.
The Gulf of America !
Didn't think I'd see my area on here, northern Alabama is underrated!
So many nice boats on Guntersville, I guess I never realized how many nice yachts there were here. This definitely makes me want to save up and buy one someday so I can float to FL and back. Awesome video.
And I made a 4th of July trip from Moundville on the Black Warrior down to Demopolis on the Tombigbee & actually thought I'd done something. Nah
First Place you stayed is my neck of the woods …Engles used to be a WW2 Shipyard
Greetings from Decatur, wish we'd have known you were in town!
Dude needed to throw his phone overboard and spend more time with you ‘learing’.
I've been wanting to do this in my 27' cuddy cabin boat. Fuel and doing the locks would bother me.
It's not really a problem. Boston and Foxboro have hosted the World Cup before. They use the rail link all the time between and Pats games and multiple concerts and other events every year. It's not like this is a new thing that has not happened before.
This new owner this boat seems to okay as far as learning this new boat. It's alot to take in but I can tell he's a very smart guy and there's no doubt in my mind by the end of this trip he will be abel to take this boat out being a good captain
Thanks captain and thanks Steve,I learned a lot. We're planning to go from Guntersville to the Bahamas this summer.
Gulf of America
This is a bucket list route for me if i can ever afford it.
Damn man. I live on lake guntersville. I would have bought yall breakfast or lunch. Love the content.
Came for the boat. Stayed for Kenny powers
See you in Demopolis!
Ingalls Harbor has a lot of Bass Tournaments out of there, some have well over 200 boats at a time
Bama boy here, and thank you so much for this video. I've always wanted to travel all the way down the Alabama river to see what it was like. Well I got old and never did it. At least I got to see it through your eyes, and it gives me a kind of satisfaction that I at least got to experience it to a degree. So, thank you for posting this.
that's gulf of America dude
Excellent presentation. Thank you for posting.
Gulf of America Men! Nice boat
I always bring a 2×4 to keep me off of the lock wall
coming into the dock @3645 if you had never done this free dock before, at what point do you start to make moves or question the area with water under the boat? If the dock is too shallow for you to dock this large of a yacht at?
