Episodul 50 Parasirea lacului

  1. Howdy, I'm living aboard in New Zealand after 5 years living aboard around Harvey Bay. What is your motor sailer worth? After my contract ends, I want to buy another live aboard, and I think a motor sailer would be perfect for my lazy arse.

  2. My partner and I are going down the partner visa path with an immigration attourney in a few months. She comes out here from China several times a year on her tourist visa but has now retired and wants to move here full time. Interestingly we want to spend a couple of years touring around prior to buying base camp. Maybe motor yacht could be an option. Looks idealic…

  3. Hi Norm, My second post ever. Just bought a lovely old gaff ketch thanks to your inspiration.
I'd like to repay you in some way – here's the best way I know how…
Let me give you the best advice I was ever given – Want to meet the right person for YOU? Forget China or Bangkok or anywhere else. Stop trying to win (or buy) Love Lotto.
There are hundreds of people who are just waiting to see if you and your lifestyle would be right for them. But don't expect them to make such a huge commitment on the spot.
Now for the specifics of the advice:
    1) Advertise for people who would like to trying motor sailing for a day trip, or at most a single overnight trip (no longer as it can seem daunting to the inexperienced or those prone to seasickness).
If they are women allow them to bring along a single (1) female friend. This will make them feel more secure and more likely to try.
    2) Do not charge them. This removes the 'commercial charter' aspect and all the associated paperwork, etc, etc. They are your 'guests'.
    3) You will make a lot of genuine new friends… and that is where any lasting friendship starts.
Norm, your professional skill, sense of adventure and calm leader demeanor is what will attract the right person. Not your ability to obtain a Visa.
How can I be so sure? Because someone gave me this advice back in 1983. I took a few people sailing. One of them came back. We have been together for 43 years.
    HOLD FAST…
