1. People are vacation and I like they don't have dress code restrictions to get a meal, within reason of course no swimwear. I'm interested in trying the MSC Yacht club thank you for your detailed review. I do the haven on NCL

2. This is just a in general comment. As a solo cruiser I have noticed a difference in the way crew treats me. On NCL a server in the food court says where’s your husband? Totally inappropriate, my answer was if you find him let me know! But honestly in the private restaurants especially they don’t know what to do with “just” a woman, which really makes me mad. They fawn over a couple but mostly ignore me. I was on the Prima in November and I got ignored so much in the new Italian restaurant Scarpeta. Although the female waiter at Los lobos was unbelievably kind and fantastic. Anyway it’s something I’ve noticed and don’t like. I really enjoy your vlogs Zach, you always tell it like it is. We as solo cruisers have different stories and experiences.

3. This was absolutely not worth it for us. Anytime you stepped foot outside of the yacht club you were surprised at the poor conditions of the rest of the ship including broken air conditioning and terrible maintenance. Also the Wi-Fi did not work or reach anywhere inside of our Yacht Club cabin

4. If you're looking at a week-long cruise in the Yacht Club or Retreat, check out luxury lines like MSC's Explora instead. The price is often similar, and while the entertainment isn't as good, the food and service are on another level. The Emporium Marketplace on Explora as a buffet/lunch option is truly out of this world! I'd stick to the "ship-within-a-ship" for short trips under a week, but for anything longer, a dedicated luxury ship is a much better value for a similar price point.

5. Zach, how did you handle gratuities ?
   Did you pre pay or remove gratuities from your account and tip people ( butlers, etc ) directly ?
   Or did you do both ?

7. You apparently never went to the Top Sail Lounge in the evening – there is always live entertainment throughout the evening. It's usually a piano player, but I've seem a sax player in there and a full jazz combo.

8. Just got back from a week on the Seascape. Your review is spot on for service, experience and food! We went in with high expectations for fine dining but it was far from that. Overall pretty good, lots of misses but definitely not a fine dining experience. We enjoyed the overall YC cruise enough to do it
   again but maybe next time we will try a specialty restaurant or two. Still can’t figure out why people rave about the YC food so much!

12. I watched. I remain a Retreat die-hard. Especially with dining. I love Luminae, and the different ways they will bend over to adapt to my taste. No, Retreat, as you know, is not a ship within a ship. But that's where I appreciate Celebrity. Retreat or non-Retreat areas, I love (especially) the Edge class ships. MSC doesn't have that distinction. Prices are comparable, about $1000/day. I watched with interest but left knowing that my next cruises already booked in The Retreat will be what I've come to expect. Another excellent video Zach!

14. I just got back from my Msc Seaside Yacht Club experience on 2/6/2026. I'll give it a 7. The food was disappointing, very seldom did I see the butler because he was busy working multiple jobs. Housekeeping gets a 10. Would I pay to do it again, meaning the yacht club, probably not. I paid $168 for the cruise so if service was subpar, welp, but I upgraded to the yacht club so I expected more.

15. Like you said Zach, we too had weather issues so they informed us before we arrived at Ocean Cay that we would be leaving early. You are so right about folks coming to dinner looking any kind of way. I packed a lot of clothes that went unused because there was nothing elegant going on. Very disappointed but you live and learn.

19. Very nice summary of the Yacht Club experience! As a Blue Diamond MSC cruiser who has been on over a dozen cruises in the Yacht Club in the Caribbean & Med, I like your assessment of the total experience – and the "removal of friction." That's exactly correct.

20. I just wondering did you send anything back in the yacht club restaurant, you should mention it isn’t what you expected. I did and the chef came and apologized and he made it right after that meal he came out every night after check on the food with me.

23. Having done 4 Explora's and 8 yacht Clubs I think we've sorted out most of the differences. Firstly, I'd say if we're doing Yacht Club, we prefer the smaller MSC ships – YC isn't so busy and the restaurant being at the back of the ship, cuts down on the ambient noise. Food quality? I think it's pretty good – maybe not Sakura or Fil Rouge but holds it's own otherwise. YC changes the menu every day as well which is not a feature of Explora or other small-ship luxury products which is where I think YC sits. I would say YC restaurants are the equivalent of chains like Ruth's Chris, Shula's in the states and good bistro/brasseries in Europe – but certainly not Michelin or haute cuisine. Perks of YC are excellent and the outside cabins/suites are strong contenders – though not against Explora. Regarding the thorny issue of the 'environment' re baseball hats and shorts etc. In the Med, there's less of that in YC but overall, sorry to say it but it comes down to fellow cruisers. The demographic in Luxury, and small-ship luxury (Explora) is not the same in YC. I would say 80% of YC in the Med and Caribbean would feel very at home on Explora, Queens Grill on Cunard, Regent etc. The other 20% wouldn't. As far as entertainment is concerned, not sure about your trip but on all the YC's we've been on, there has been excellent live music in the lounge as well as some really fun parties. All completely in my opinion so make of it what you will. Thanks for the video.

25. We sailed December 2025 for 7 nights on MSC Grandiosa, a yacht club balcony.

    We thoroughly enjoyed the VIP service, no waiting in lines, Butler escorting us to shows and other parts of the ship eliminating us getting lost and frustrated, the food was excellent, including the outdoor buffet.

    YC always had a lot of space everywhere, the daytime bartender kindly serve me coffee at 6 AM when he was cleaning and setting up for the day, the 24 hour concierge desk was a great help setting things up, making reservations, especially helpful when an excursion failed. They quickly credited my account the full amount.

    Overall yacht club was a great value. I would highly recommend it to those who can afford it.

26. YC booked for… 9/6/26 Seashore. Just got off the Grandiosa 14 day. I always book future cruises while onboard… discounts galore
