We have a Spectra Cape Horn 24V unit on our Sweden Yacht. Great choice. Easy to use and low energy consumption. We don’t have Z ion module so we need to run minimum every 5 days. I installed it myself with no issues on commissioning.

Great video, you were fishing for comments on Watermakers, I bought a Schenker Zen 50 DC watermaker from the dealer in Athens earlier this year (they were the most competitive European supplier I found). These also have the energy recovery system the same as Spectra and at a considerably better price (the Athens dealer also sells Spectra). I purchased on the strength of 2 recomendation from cruisers who have this newish model a while.(I beleive some of the older Schenker units had issues) Coming from NZ, I have the same Schengen shag around that you have now. This season I was more focused on getting my new Winston lithium system sorted and a couple of other pressing jobs….I got the Zen all mounted, but not fully plumbed, so cannot comment on performance. Planning on being in the Aegean next year. All the best

Hi Steve, watching you working on the toe rail with the sander I notice you are using the yellow sand-paper, no-one ever told me that the dark red stuff while slightly more expensive is far more effective!, it was the dark red sanding disks that I use on the angle grinders that tipped me off, they were lasting far longer than the other stuff so I tried it out on the orbital sander only to find they last about three times longer!, the adhesive is also slightly more water resistant, sometimes I wonder why it took me so many years to learn the simplest things!.
