1. We all know you will keep this boat as to be honest why buy it. Just tell us Melody is going and don't be afraid to tell us. I'm perfectly ok with the new boat its fantastic for your needs and once done it wont need as much maintenance as Melody. Life is a bugger, as we all know how circumstances can change. Do what's in your heart and don't worry what You tube viewer's think

  2. What could be better than owning one boat? Owning two boats, of course. 🙂 Wish you all the best for the year 2023 and merry christmas!

  3. I was a bit down when I saw that you got a new boat. Fell in love with Melody.
But after watching this video, this beauty stole my heart. She's the sleek young lovely lady that old men lose their hearts over.
She needs a name appropriate to her beauty.
Anyway, I love watching your family preparing your dream. God bless and good winds always.

  4. What a great looking boat amazing how a good clean brings the boat alive well done to all of you, Mellisa getting straight into work mode what a great lady she is, lucky man Andy also young Jack getting into it ,theres a great vibe about this boat cant wait to see her sailing all the best and Merry Xmas to all

  5. Lovely boat , Prehaps you will repurpose the twin pilot berths which seem so unnecessary these days but nothing that stops you using boat. ( and great hold all storage in mean time !).
    Cheers Warren

  6. New boat's looking good! So, will you be spending say a week on one then next week on the other? They're not exactly next door to each other!

  7. Mate so much less work than Melody.
Put Melody on the market and all your effort’s into this one. Not too big a job, mostly cosmetic hopefully. Depends on electrics

  8. Excited for you. Chlorine dioxide floggers kills mold and is non toxic. It’s like a flea fogger. You can clap make your own non toxic blend for cleaning and water disinfection.

  9. What a beautiful boat. Of course some things need to be fixed here and there but nothing to be compared to Melody!
The only disadvantage is this boat does not have anything like Melody's pilot house and so like most sailboats, the living space is pretty dark. But the perfect boat does not exist and it seems you made the right choice buying this one. Jack and his brother/sister will have all the space they need.
Much work ahead preparing both boats now, except if you find someone interested in Melody right now.
    Have a wonderful Christmas.

  10. I can see a solar panel or two above a stainless steel boat davit at the back of the new boat and two more solar panels above the cockpit with either a fabric or hardtop roof like Odd Life did with their boat. You have much more deck space now too.

  11. Nice boat . But check your fire extinguishers . If they are powder extinguishers , remove them and install foam extinguishers . If you get a fire and use a powder extinguisher , the powder will destroy everything it comes in contact with . Dont ask me how i know .

  12. Wow that’s a nice boat and I think the inside will be comfortable:) all in all it’s a nice boat to live on. I just started to watch you guys so I’m looking forward to seeing what you accomplish in the coming days.👍

  13. WOW! what a beautiful ketch she is! Lots of projects and refit to go on with, but she will be so much more comfortable for your growing family.

  14. Congratulations on the Bowman 46. She is beautiful.
We built a 53 foot yawl that was based on the 46 and looked just like a bigger version. Same centre cockpit and coach roof. Don Pye and David Cooper (of Holman and Pye) designed her. We built her ourselves in foam sandwich fibreglass in the mid 1970's.There were 3-6 of these bigger, much heavier at approx. 25 ton (cruising displacement) 46's built around the world. 2-3 in foam, one of aluminium in France. I believe one in steel in Australia. The first one was built for a business man in Colchester, she was called Nylanni. They sailed wonderfully and never slammed in a heavy sea and were fast! The Beam was 15ft 7 inches. Bowman's built his interior and liked the boat so much that they commissioned Holman & Pye to design the Bowman 57. However, the route out of Halmatics? yard, or into Bowman's (who laminated the hull) was narrow and so even though the 57 was bigger she had to have a beam under 15ft, hence the 57 having a beam of 14ft 8inches.
Just thought this might interest you as to the design history.
    Best regards
    Simon
