Hi, your system is 24 V. How many equipment don't exist in 24 V ? How do you feed these "only" 12 V equipments ?

Obviously, your jump to lithium batteries was very successful. There are an array of lithium batteries types and manufacturers, all of which have a fairly wide margin of efficiency, or so I understand. And the technology is growing so fast that efficiency, capacity, and weight (as in decreasing) are increasing at an astounding rate per year. But that's another discussion, I suppose.
However, I would like to say that you didn't mention either weight or maintenance for your transition from lead-acid to lithium. Lead-acid maintenance is a bit more complicated than only draining to 30%…and I wonder if you had a scientific basis for that way of doing things. Also, the weight difference between lead-acid and lithium is astounding. A 50% reduction of weight…or more.
So…do you think battery weight reduction has affected the range of your vessel? Thought it isn't always so simple, in general, lighter vessels are more efficient.

I find your tips incredibly useful, and the way that Brian explains everything is really easy to understand. I have just listened to the episode on electricity consumption, wind and solar generators 12 to 24V which Brian and Brady put together and it has been enlightening, if you pardon the pun. Good luck wherever you are now.

excellent info I like the comparisons which give people a good gauge on where to spend money with upgrades, I do wonder with your consumption of power you might need more batteries, also have thought about going electric for the engine with electric motor and regen when sailing
2:11 Sorry to say that you're not getting the most out of your MPPT charge controller. Your panel voltage is barely above the threshold for the MPPT to track properly, for running a 24v battery bank. Your panels should be configured for 48 volts.

I could be wrong but it seems to me that when looking at the wind generators, the terms of charging were in volts not watts as stated, would make better sense as a smaller sailboat could get all its power from wind generator and 25 watts just won't cut it

This series is awesome. I'm just getting started outfitting my boat with solar as an electrical neophyte. I was going to have it done for me but the quotes I got for solar, lithium batteries, and a new charge controller were in the $15K range – more than I wanted to spend. Educating myself so I can do it on my own will not only save a lot of $$$, but I'll know how to troubleshoot it and continue to upgrade it as time goes on (i.e. bimini solar, wind, hydro, etc.) or for the next boat.
There's some great info here Brian! Thanks for putting this series together. You may have covered this before and I just missed it, but how did you determine the amount of energy you would need to produce to keep Delos self-sufficient?
