  1. Anyone with common sense or flooding experience would know that a boat submerged for an extended time is not restorable due to mold and deterioration.

  2. 99% youtubers: "If you're not familiar with that previous story, look it up…I'm too important to be bothered with it".

eSysman: "If you're not familiar with that previous story…" proceeds to cater to new and first time viewers with backstory, video, includes episode # of story and current status of vessel
Absolute TOP NOTCH channel and host, there isn't even a close 2nd!!!

  3. Sad to hear of Eleonora E. From the moment she went down there was a clock ticking. And it sure seemed like nobody was racing it to save her. All the way down to the time it took for the Emergency boat captain to send someone to check on the yacht. It just all happened way too slow. I'd not be surprised to hear that the damage from a few weeks submerged costs more to fix than the steel hull itself.

  4. If I heard correctly the first "spot" was called M/Y M & EM and I like the blue hull too…wait…that couldn't be Eminem, could it? Hahahaaa! The second "spot" was a cool-lookin' shot with the three yachts in it and I especially like the dark sky (don't know if it was by design or by chance) because it's so unique to be showcasing superyachts in that contrast. The Beast is a beast! The size and design make it look rugged and able while the chosen colours and their use add to that image. Ever since the first time eSysman had Beast on I thought that it was like the Swiss Army Knife of boats and if I had one I'd paint it to look like one heh, heh.
M/Y Norn (tentatively) is a fierce-lookin' vessel! It almost looks as if it might just as easily be seen marauding and pillaging in the skies as in the seas. This is another example of good colour choices and use and I am a fan of the way the paint plays off the angles of the yacht. The saga of S/Y Eleanora E has not been a very happy story from her unceremonious scuttling and sinking to her being left on her side, on the muddy bottom this has been painful. As I recall, a number of us were genuinely surprised when it was officially announced that the insurance company would salvage and restore her. Well, she has had a drawn-out ordeal with it and is finally at rest. Bummer.
Another outstanding episode by the eSysman team is in the books! Well done folks, I appreciate you.

  5. It is too bad the Eleanora E had too much damage. It happened to an old restaurant in Newport Beach CA. Nearby construction damaged the Crab Cooker so much that it was cheaper to scrape and rebuild than to repair.

  6. I know that marina in Auckland, my neighbours used to dock their 75' sailing yacht there in the 1980s. It was always full of expensive vessels and my neighbours yacht always stood out by being bright orange undercoat colour [if anyone can remember back to the colour I am referring to, think it might have been a lead undercoat colour originally] and looking as though it needed a top coat.

  7. You are incorrect about Charles Simonyi. He was born in Hungary, he is now an American citizen. Has zero connection with Russia except having gone to space through the tourist space program like a few other American people.

  8. Imagine towing the heavily bruised “Eleanora E” all that way from Terragona up to your only hope- the master ship building guru’s of the Netherlands just to find out that she is unsalvageable and now You gotta tow her back to France just to vacate the shipyard and get rid of her. If that doesn’t take the wind out of your sails…
On the other hand its not unlikely that her state was probably assessed and known straight after lifting her from the dead and fate already sealed. Netherlands shipyard just needed some of the measurements to streamline the process of starting project codenamed “replica of the replica”.

  9. Rusty ships get scrapped in India.
Cracked and soggy eggshell yachts get scrapped in France.
    Got it!

Oh the elusive nature of the material world…

  10. From the footage it looks very much as though "THE BEAST" is a catamaran. Pity the camera didn't pan all the way round to the bow.
Curious to see what look like permanently attached dolly wheels on the rib.
But I'm even more curious about the device on the aft end of the crane jib. Visible from 2:11 to 2:19, it looks like some kind of hydraulic attachment that's been pivoted into a vertical position for stowage but can be raised to lock into the end of the jib when in use. Can anyone shed any light on what it may be?

  11. Sad to hear the sailing yacht is elegely being cut up , let's hope they change their mind! It seemed very
Repairable if you ask me , just cut out deformed hull parts /re framing and rePlating the mid ship potion of the yath ,I colour understand the scrapping decision if the ship was "keel broken" , or torn over larger areas up in the under water hull section, but this seems stupid, like a how insurance company would think.
I get that the interior would be damaged but the steel hull does not
Get destroyed by so short submerging. I hope the the rigging and sails get salvaged at least.
Someone with a dream of a ship like that ,with the skill to weld steel, and time to fix it but not nesseery the economy to afford to buy a new ship could have made there dream come true. Or sea scouts / saling camp organiser.
But the insurens company shoose the easy bureaucratic/ cold think soultion.

A :Well we own it now after paying out insurance….. what do we do with it…
B :It's a beautiful ship someone would surely buy it and fix it .. a shame to destroy it.
A: naaaa ; we sell it to the scrappers, hwo cares about culture values…

  12. i laughed and laughed and laughed when i saw Eleanora get T-boned but i was sad that the boat owner didn't get to see me laughing, it was hilarious

  13. Why don't you call your segment Yachtspot? Is that already copyright protected? I'll bet the owner would let you use it if you gave him credit.
