  1. Thanks for this video. Looks like great fun …. well maybe not the rolling! Just about to put the bottom paint on our boat (Alberg 37) and get it in the water for the season. Greetings from Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada

  2. Your galley looks cool with those lights! I was thinking about using amber marker lights for a truck, I’ve seen the color used at some beachfront resorts to keep light pollution down

  3. Great fun. I love the galley and cooking while sailing shots. And what a magnificent coast line that was. The variety in the trees is a real surprise. My current thinking on what the cylinders with the cord wrapped around under your transom seat have to be a drogue device of some sort.

  4. Always good to catch up with you, Karl, great music and beautiful photography. Good therapy for those of us who are landlocked and not able or willing to go off on a great adventure. Thanks for sharing…

  5. I poke around at most of the cruising videos, but always seem to return here. I guess there are three main reasons:
    1. Karl seems to be a great crusing boat an you have made it better. Everthing you have done has a purpose and makes him better. He's not show-room glamorous but a real cruiser.
    2. Your video quality is great and constantly improving. You clearly have a lot tech available and know how to use it, but you don't show it off or let the drones, Gopro's and all the rest of the non-sailing gear get in the way.
    3. I know product placement is an economic neccessity, but you do it so gracefully its hardly noticeable.
You are my inspiration for cruising around the New England shores on my Pearson 26.

  6. You have broken my heart for the second time, you have cut your beautiful hair! “Say it ain’t so”, tell me it isn’t true.
It has been a long time since we have talked. I completed another circle around the sun and I am only a couple of months until I do it again. I am delighted that you are back with the only man that you truly in love with, Karl. It is always good to touch again. I never thought that you would be back at sea. The last video I caught you were traveling and doing things ashore. I never thought that you would be content with Karl and the sea. I am so glad you are back, or I think that you are back. In the video it said 2021. That was a while ago.

  7. Great to see you in your happy place on Karl again Nike ☺️ I’m glad your foot is feeling much better too! Safe sailing 🙏

  8. Good times on the boat. Mine is in town though the garden needs care, and chain kicks rust when dropped that is motorcycle. Its always time for coffee, and I turn the bottle a few times before uncorking to clear the memory, to see what it was. The summer is beginning here. Happy Sailing Nike!

  9. I started watching your channel when you put a new engine in Karl by yourself. You rock girl. I wanted to give you some friendly advice. When there is light to no wind and motoring, I will put a second reef in to slow and lessen the rolling.
    Fair winds and following seas.

  10. I have enjoyed a week or two watching the eight years of repairing and sailing Karl. Now I am caught up and hoping there will be more. I wanted to say it was very impressive watching you struggle with the boat and your own emotions. I know the strength it takes to keep working when all seems to be failing. I also appreciate your problem solving and mechanical skills and your obvious abilities to make friends and share your experiences with us. I'm 73 and retired and I am trying to decide to buy old and repair or buy newer and just sail, but like you I enjoy the "engineering" and hoping to be able to manage long solo passages before my body betrays me. Thanks for a great trip and may you have many more.

  11. Very well done for DEVELOPING the extrusion machine (Re : use plastic for ornaments etc . . . .) in dealing with the problem of Ocean plastics.

  12. Hey Nike, i really like you new head sail. That 3rd reef is a good idea. Safety 1st. I see your clipping your teather as you play around your wind vane. Great idea. A jackline from the cockpit to the mast and forward to the bow roller on might be a good idea.

  13. I'm glad to see you're tethered to your boat, I've been seeing solo sailors that fell off their boats and the boat sailed away, what if when you can't see land you put out a drag line about 75 ft., it would give you time too grab it if you go over board. It would be another line of defense for solo sailors.
