  1. Men's Depression is like the unspoken illness that Knowone speaks about especially Western Born Men !!!!!! Suicide in Men from Europe and North America is at an all-time high. I had an operation in which went wrong and I ended up with Chronic Pancreatitis I have to take roughly 40 pills a day which has resulted in me having depression. I don't just take pills for this my epilepsy came back so that didn't help either. I live in the UK thank God for the NHS . One thing that has helped me is my love of sailing I have a 2016 Beneteau 48 I'm also retired now because I'm unable to work anymore I was a Professor of Ethical Economics and International Business Management. I'm 55 now I retired at 47 which is no age really but we sailors see a beautiful world which should help depression of any kind I know it helps mine. Jordon I applaud you for bringing up this once taboo subject. Professor Mark Woods

  2. Hope all is well. Hi guys. We’re in Malta for the summer. Hope you’ll still be there. Love to take a photo with you guys and meet Isabella 💖❤️

  3. I am sure that a spare management system would be expensive, but you need a power station or two to run some lights, the refrigerator and other necessities for short periods of time if the start battery discharges in which case you won't be able to use the engine. We have a couple in our home for power outages and we take the larger one in our camper when on the road as it has come in handy several times. A resister circuit around the relay switch is a great idea. At this point, one would assume that Jordan is somewhere between a master electrician and an electrical engineer…

  4. Jordan thanks a lot for sharing the BMS problem. All of us upgrading (or planning to) to Lithium will benefit from that experience. Having a possibility to fall back on a backup battery (starter battery or a separate one) is vital. Imagine if that failure happened while sailing in the night in strong winds and current and fog, in heavy traffic and shoals (you know Mr. Murphy).

One thing you should mention is that we can't simply switch to a Lead acid backup battery and continue using the same charge profiles from the charger, solar or alternator, as they all have been programmed for Lithium, not lead acid. I mean we probably could, but not for too long otherwise we could damage the backup battery. I'm no expert in boat electricals, but I think there is something here.

  5. Another great video!! Electrical issues are the worst, appreciate the thorough explanation about the issue. Glad to see the 4 of you enjoying a "day off" as if that ever really happens with a baby and a live aboard!!

  6. The way you are handling the stressful situation is commendable. Having to rely on one power source for all your needs sets one up for many difficult times ahead. Best Wishes

  7. Great job, Jordan, in explaining the problem with your electrical system and how to fix it. I've been working on my solar system and now adding the Victron battery monitor. Sometimes, I find it hard to figure it all out, but eventually, I do. My system is not as elaborate as yours, but it works well on my PSC 34. I enjoy watching your videos. I, too, will be starting my own adventures, sailing to Newfoundland. Fair Winds. Blessing to you all!

  8. My gosh you guys, this has to be one of THEEEE BEST YouTube episodes of anything ever. Absolutely amazing shooting, editing, content. I love following your adventures anyways but this episode was just awesome. Great job guys because I know it ain't easy with a tiny human to care for. xx

  9. Co-sleeping is amazing and biologically healthy. Even prevents SIDS. It just gets a bad name because some do it wrong/ unsafe and ruin it for us all!

  10. Great video, once again. Love the "dog cam." I do have one small concern though, but I have decided not to mention it as it makes me sound like an old fuddy-duddy. Maybe I will in the future if I keep seeing it. You all are the best.

  11. Great episode. I would like to raise a general caution flag for all of 4 of your sakes safety. Watching the scene where you repeatedly turned the BMS on and the power would come on for a moment and then power off. That was the safety part working properly and preventing an electrical fire. Give your setup, I shudder to think how quickly an electrical fire would get out of control. Hence the caution. The old saying you can’t see the forest through the trees. I would strongly recommend that you take a step back and perform a comprehensive review of your onboard electrical systems. I would also say that such a review be performed by a top gun electrician from the island that is well versed in AC and DC, especially in regards to inter- connectivity. Perhaps the marina might have a recommendation. Next, I would have a conversation with a fire marshal. They may have insight or first hand experience with marine electric fires and their root causes, lessons learned, etc. The final suggestion would be, if you don’t already, review and practice your fire drill for all eventualities. At minimum, the big scenarios. 1.) A parent is below deck with child and the other is on deck, a fire separates you. 2.) Both of you are on deck, baby sleeping below deck, fire separates you both from baby. Etc. You get the idea. Love your channel and so glad to see everyone is safe and doing well.

  12. OMG! Love the Oso cam,how cute and what a lucky dog! I enjoy every episode and was one of the first subscribers. Oh boy how your family, boat and adventures have grown. I'm living for it! Great episode 👏 👌

  13. I wouldn't think the bms would have mechanical contacts? I would think it would be solid state mosfets…

  14. Here's how we "sleep trained" our daughter. She slept with us until one day she decided to walk over to her single bed and fall asleep. We did it in one night! Our secret: wait until she's five. You're welcome, everyone! 🤣🤣🤣

  15. You guys are doing a perfect job, perfect… because you are providing a great life, loving and working thru the issues. No giant issues; just the regular life issues of folks who live outside the box. Better than perfect really(for your life), because you are able to make a more beautiful life than the life you could have experienced if you would have "just lived in the box" The box just was not big enough for you. Bravo!

  16. The way you two continue to discover and define what is important to you as live aboard cruisers is impressive. We can all take a page from your book on being sure we're focused on what truly matters. Press on!

  17. Sounds like a short. So turn off all of the breakers, then start turning them back on until it happens again and find the short.

  18. It might help to turn off all the ac breakers and inverter before you operate your bms switch .

  19. So if your system had been set up using lithium’s that each have their own onboard BMS’s, would that have solved the issue? If one were to fail you could just take that cell out of the system, no? Or, conversely, if the inverter charger would have been off when you turned the BMS back on, could this have helped as there would not have been that on rush of current initially. Just curious…lithium upgrade in the future for us…
