Adam & Luke, you will make it! Thanks for being honest and true about both fears and expectations, it’s a great quality of your channel! I really appreciate your reasoning about the very long crossing ahead, the unbelievable amount of supplies you need to bring, and all the preparations. Despite the difficulties, I hope to experience similar adventures in a few years myself! Take good care of yourselves and Atlas, and….. ENJOY!
I wonder how much cheese your need Good luck boys plod on
Guys this is an amazing journey!
Why don’t you put in a water maker and have a composting toilet as can be bumped over the side
I think you'll feel better once you've set off. Take care , all the best xx
You both should be vitamin c ing your selfs ,kiwi 🥝 absorbic acid tablets, electrolyte but not if you have been chucking up may be zinc ,pray to God last thing is being crook at sea ,eating as many fresh vegetables and fruit as possible while you can load up fresh before you leave ,all you bought was survival food .

Remember to not use your holding tank. It is for show like mine was. It fully worked by the way. Of course you wont take this advice as I would not.
Bloody hell fellas you are golng from one challenge to another keep it up
John
Wishing you all the best. It will be incredible 😊
Hi Guys. I'm an ancient but fairly experienced yachtsman and get my sailing now from YouTube channels. I prefer "sailing" channels and have tried and sacked the blue skies, booze and bikini ones. I came across yours the other day, I enjoyed what I saw and think yours is "relevant". So, I've rewound to EP1 and will take it from there. It looks like there are over 100 so if I get up to date it'll show how much I enjoyed them 😮. I'll let you know now and again how I'm doing. Sail safe, cheers John.
If you stack you're cans of food neatly you will have a lot more space and can better distribute the weight
watch the sailing video Bubbles it will put you in good stead for your adventure so good luck lads KRO going all the best
Love the videos guys you have made some good ones can I ask why do you take labels off tins
Pob lwc a hwylio hapus! 🏴
May the wind fill your spinnaker ⛵
Sailing in the doldrums even the code zero or spinnaker isn’t of much help. We’ve been stuck… you need the iron horses sometimes for days. Just prepare and go, you can do it.
Panama looks like a nice place. It is amazing how EPIC your sail is going to be. You don't have plans to stop at the Galapagos or how about Easter island? The Pacific Passage is going to be awesome!
Thanks guys, I thoroughly enjoyed the glimpse into your planning.
I hope I didn't contribute to your anxieties with my questions about NZ in winter, I since found an overview of stormy seasons in the different regions and it's not the worst place to be, albeit rather cold. When I think about how I'd be daunted by the vastness when my time comes, I remind myself that it's called the Pacific for a reason. On the other hand, there's talk of El Niño, how does that affect trades?
So much food, tinned and dried. Good preparation, well prepared lads! Hope you´ll catch some fresh fish along the way too. My goodness, 4000nm….next week I´m going for a 200nm Northsea sail and I am nervous as hell 🤣 Imagine!
As a precaution, you can add a drop of iodine (just buy the stuff you buy in a pharmacie). Just one drop in every 20 liters. This helps keeping it fresh and free of algae, parasites and bacteria.
Some scary stuff when the water is on the wrong side.
You guys are such am inspiration! We have just bought a yacht and hoping to keep it at CYC. If we do a fraction of what you’ve already achieved we’ll be delighted. Fair winds & lets hope the Cheese lasts!! 🧀⛵️
My heroes.
It's the sailing equivalent to climbing Everest. And you guys are SO SO SO not out of your depth. I can't imagine two people I would trust more to sail across with little or no troubles. The distance is the only issue… it will be fun. As for the doldrums, sailors have drifted through them for many hundreds of years before they started using engines. I hope to take an electric outboard to help but I would never use up diesel to cross it. I think the Indian and Southern oceans are more scary… it is the sheer scale of the Pacific… all the land in the World will fit in the Pacific with plenty of room to spare… and you look on a globe and it takes up nearly half the entire world…. it is a big arse place and no mistake… but this is the goal. I want to be there within four years from now. Catch up as you come round again! I start a new job later this month whch I really have no great desire to do… but it's the best paying thing I have ever done and every day I work I will be thinking.: this is for the sailing fund…. this is for the sailing fund.
Well, I don't have the words, You guys are so amazing
You'll be fine boys! Good luck!
In all my trips out of Panama I only experienced adverse currents until near the Galapagos. Sorry. There is usually some wind in the doldrums and it won't be what's on Windy. Neither Windy or the gribs are at all reliable under 10 knots. There will be wind from all over the compass, sometimes quite strong but very localised. The big black clouds have no wind underneath as it's going straight up, but wind flowing in toward the cloud on the edges. Be careful with the kite as you can get 25 knots with little warning…..the trick is to navigate from cloud edge to cloud edge without going under them. It's perfectly possible to drift through if you are patient and engaged. There is diesel in the Galapagos, and you could pull a 48hr emergency stop if you are out, but there is little to recommend the place for cruisers.
See you NZ . Catchprase from crossing the Pacific..” should have bought more !!”
Will you be doing another long episode like the crossing the atlantic? Love that video, very well edited.
You guys are great, thank you
Oh man! Did I just see socks and sandles or socks and crocs? That’s too funny! 😂 👍🙂🏴
You boy's will do just fine. Remember, if you can sail the Bristol Channel you can sail anywhere in the world…. 😉
Hallo Sailing Brothers, I have total faith in you! You're honest about your worries – but you're both capable, and look how far you've already come… [La Gomera to Martinique is just under 3000 miles, and that's three quarters of this bigger trip – and you've come even further than that, from good old Cardiff Bay😀]. Hope you're feeling better now Luke, and our hearts go with you both across the Pacific👍🌎⛵
Good luck boys looking forward to seeing what you do but not looking forward to you not on here for a few weeks. Stay safe Steve
good rooineks you are my heroes !!! greetings from south Africa.
Great video again lads. A lucky escape with the sea cock but a good lesson learned…… Check and double check. Stay safe and we're looking forward to the next video. Take care.🙏🙏⛵
You got this, it's going to be interesting to see if she heels as much with all that extra ballast haha
Nothing bails faster than a scared man and a five gallon bucket.
From experience. Twice.
Rethink your floor supports if you cannot get a five gallon bucket into play!
"I shoulda bunged the pipe" – that is why God created carrots!
You are more than capable of this journey and I can’t wait to see it . Good luck xx
Check out Wind Hippy sailing channel.. her boat is small too and she sailed the same route as you are -she is in NZ now x
Great planning guys – I’m a kiwi you will enjoy NZ but it’s a bit expensive so be prepared
I can understand your nerves lads but as others have said think of what you’ve already experienced and achieved. I know we see a fair number of pacific crossing on YT but in reality its a huge thing done by a tiny number of people. You’ve already done what 99. 9 % of the population of the whole planet will never do .How awesome is that ? Most of the people we see doing big ocean crossings and circumnavigations maybe don’t share their nerves and fears as openly but you can bet your boots they feel them too . I think you should be proud of your achievements and I think you may inspire others , maybe not to sail across an ocean but in other things in life which may be just as massive to them . Keep safe and best wishes .
Need a water maker
Watch the old sea dog when he done it watch it think was 72 days
It’s good to be anxious before a big crossing, I think it’s normal. You look well provisioned lads maybe a fresh fish or two would compliment your tinned meat. Safe journey lads and enjoy. 🤙
