She is one of the very few 'real' sailors doing content today. Always worth watching.
What's close hauled mean?
Grips of jankey. Kubota knock-off ignition is my choice. A second is planned for the cabin. As is a twin mainsheet, after more money. Get a manual access to the deceleration on the pump. Most have just an electrical solenoid moving to deceleration/ cut-off. The Geck keeps improving halfway around the world.
I love that system with mainsheet
Love your courage and resourcefulness!
Big inspiration for those of us still on the dock!
I gotta get mine in im soooo land sick
Soon the busted knuckles and greasy fingernails will just be a memory. And you can keep on keepin’ on. Considering the cost of a new engine you did it right.
That engine start workaround is a bit squirrely, so I wouldn't depend on it for very long.
You must be in the same part of the world as Annie Hill, of Voyaging on a Small Income fame. You are both so inspirational. Perhaps you should get in touch. (But be warned, you will want a junk rig)
👏👏👏
you are awesome, but is that new mainsheet from Aldi, if it is just beware after a year it will degrade in the sunlight ?
New engine – woohoo 🎉 🎉🎉 super happy for you.
Glad to see you sailing! (Ironic that sailors have to spend so much time working on their engines.)
Dont ever try to choke out a diesel unless you use a book or something strong
Your sailing has inspired me, im working on getting my CANSAIL 1 this year in June with the hope of sailing down to the bahamas and caribbean in the next couple of years once I complete CANSAIL and get enough experience with sailing the great lakes.
🤩
Congratulations you have earned a masters degree in cobble joble, keep on cruising kiddo great job
Are you coming to Australia? Big Place, can't miss it.
"TRIANGLE THINGS" padeyes hahaha
A replacement ignition switch is a simple and relatively cheap fix. It’s not worth the frustration, just replace it with a toggle switch and a push button start.
Cool. Have fun.
That tree climb was scary!
Just subbed holly good stuff…. Lee South Africa
Hi gorgeous, I love watching your adventures. Is it possible to put a polarising filter on you camera? It's a great tool to have in the bag.
Hope you have somewhere to hide for the weather coming this way
Love your gutsy can do attitude to life and sailing
Have you thought of a flat head screwdriver pushed into the slot ?
quick thinking Brilliant!
Are you still in whitianga?
Love it thanks ❤
must apologise for the absolutely terrible weather we've had in NZ this summer! normally it's much better!
Hey,
Just subscribed…been watching James for a while. Now I’m looking forward to seeing more of your content.
Be safe out there!
✌️
I'd love to sail the Bay of Islands one day.

Omg get down from that tree! 🤣
I find it hilarious how much "advice" about fixing your boat you get from men. I've never noticed that in the comments for male sailors' videos.
At 19:11 I love Dans face😅…is that because of all the unmentionables hanging from the roof..
Just started watching your videos. I'm going to be crossing oceans very soon and your videos are very informative. You're the real deal
