1. If in any doubt about how to build a structure Always refer to nature, The lack of forced tension alloys for less wear and tear, I have as a Transmission engineer seen the Physical difference between a Chelsea Tractor's transmission failures and a Working Farms Land-Rover transmission failure, Same machine different attitudes of users, nuff said

  2. There may have been a strong spring pulling the motor down to keep constant tension on the belts. Check for any holes that may have been used for that purpose.

  3. cedar won´t wear out your sawblades, it contains no silicates and is ridiculously soft and weak. Cutting cardboard would wear the blades faster.

  4. Had to smile when you changed the blade, the piece of shaped wood on the dust extractor is still doing its job just fine, originally was only supposed to last till the right part turned up, Good fun.

  5. Excuse me, Johann. I am an admirer of your initiative, of your courage as a sailor, of your hard-earned experience on the waves. But I have a concern that I cannot ignore. I hope I'm wrong, to the happiness of your initiative. What bothers me is the following: I have seen your construction system applied to canoes and small boats, but in a 15-meter boat it seems to me that the torsion becomes critical. You must have thought about it, but I still can't imagine how you will overcome that difficulty. Sorry if I'm very clumsy. Greetings.

  6. When you skin the outer hull consider using basalt it’s superior to glass nicer to work .. safer tougher stronger it’s impervious to osmosis acids and alkalise and a lot quieter and greener it’s also uV proof and temperature stable and insulates .Also its strength 2.7 times stronger than steel in tension and highly resistant to scratching or gouging .. even ballistically it is also electrically non conductive.

  7. youre killing it guys….i cant wai to se it take more shape after the flip over…you guys are my kind of people, just get your hands into it and figure it out, and get it done right, hope to see it in person one day if youre ever near nyc

  8. For Belt tension on your Saw, When I worked with the older ranges of Commercial Washing Machines made by Electrolux Wascator of Ljunby, Belt tension was achieved by a short but powerful tension coil spring attached to the Motor and the Machine near the base. The adjustment was by a threaded stud with a flattened end, that had a hole through it, and the end of the spring went through this and the other end was attached to the machine, later machines lost the stud and relied on the spring tension. A spring must be used, as this protects the Motor Bearings, and also the Belts.

  9. Just finished episode 60/61 where you certified open water diving in Bonaire congratulations. Impressed with donkey sanctuary and think that a donkey on the farm would be enjoyable for Vera. Love watching your journey.
