BINE ATI VENIT!!! What's crazy is only 35 of those boats were built!
I certainly love my aft captains quarters on my boat.
i love the S2's and my second sailboat was a S2 9.2c
This boat would fit me too. topnotch boat.
Just wanted to know how old he is to be still solo sailing, and what he plans to do if he gets too old?
Elephant Butte…yeah for New Mexico lakes! Spent many hours walking the sands down there.
It’s a nice boat and I’m sure it’s very well maintained but the hull being cored below the waterline is a dealbreaker for me. Even if they were plentifully available, when I list my criteria for what I HAVE to have in a boat, a solid FG hull is near the top of the list.
Would Jay have any interest in a paying crew member for a month sometime next "winter".
I like to say a lot of Jay tell him his friend Doug Solon from fort Pierce harbor on Savannah breeze says hello I was wondering where he was I'm leaving this January before my first trip over to the Bahamas and then I think I'm going to head south from there
Good to see both of you, gentlemen!
Jay is a very humble man. 🙌
New sub❤love the boat. Wishing I was out on the water rt now. Lol
Wow, surprised to Elephant Butte, NM…. love the lake, not sure many people would even know where that is!!
What make is this?
Nice boat, we are looking at sailboats and catamarans for our next boat. Hoping it will be cheaper to travel Australian Coast 🤙🥰💯
Could you just remind me of the owners name again !!! 🤣🤣🤣
I love the boat!
The monthly costs would be very interesting.
Thanks Dan & Jay great tour and lots of fun listening to you both. Enjoy.
i prefer boats with comfort ratio of above 30 at least. capsize ratio is doable below 2.0, not a bad looking boat though.
It sleeps 6 and is perfect for solo sailing? ??
Nice walk through and review!
Jay is a very patient and tolerant person.
very nice boat J
Beautiful boat pretty cool
Great flight plan Captain. 👍👍👍🍻
Well done on the voyage and a captivating vlog. Really enjoyed following your journey!👍
Awesome video I have it’s little brother the S2 9.2C or 30’ version.
On the keel stepped mast comments. There are benefits to a keel stepped mast that weren't mentioned. Everything is a compromise.
I've heard of some nightmare scenarios in sailing where people collide with sperm whales while they are basking or sleeping, and lost in floating containers from container ships at night. Have you guys ever done that or come close to colliding with anything along the way?
What was his name again 😅
Nice!
These guys seem like great guys to meet and hang out with. I can't wait until I'm out there meeting other good people like this. Cool boat. Thanks for the video!
When using lfp you use 100 % of your battery and it will outlive most of your boat. Also you can use it upside down or at any angle.
This is one of the most comprehensive boat tours I've seen on YT. Great job!
Cheers!!!
Are center cockpits yachts safer?
Great job as always! Would love to buddy boat with you guys one day! What software/app do you use to show the mapping? Ive seen Huub use it too, it's great for voice over B roll. Fair winds!
If you go Lithium, be sure it's LiFePo4. The others can burn up, taking your boat with it. I decided, on my Hunter 34, to stick with lead-acid, move them closer to the centerline, just behind the motor (better balance to keep it upright. I have the shallow draft version), with anti-sulphators on each one (the potted kind, that only desuphate, when the battery is being charged.
My Hunter 34 (34.5 feet long, almost 12 feet wide), has a port side aft-ish cabin, at the bottom of the companionway. It's what sold me on the boat. That cabin extends under the cockpit, for part of the berth. Ends, in front on an aft exterior locker. I'll be relocating a drain pipe, that sticks down 3 inches, just above the berth (it drains a shallow locker, that's over part of the berth area.
I recommend, that you be prepared, for going south of the Equator. It's only warming half as fast, as the North. I expect lots of unrest, up North, when this Spring's crops come in, very very very short. I'm looking at the Rio Grand–the one in southern Argentina.
When you collect rainwater, is it treated or filtered afterward? Or is it pretty safe to drink as-is?
