  1. wow you did an amazing refit of the old boat ,could never under estimate the amount of work and time its taken to get her to such a high level of quality ,i,m half way through every single item and thing you had to do , now you can enjoy sailing her for years without any need or worry about things breaking and repairing

  2. I'm guessing you're not a boatbuilder, like all the folks saying how wonderful a fitout this is.
Why paint all the interior then line it with ply AND not insulate?
Where did you study yacht design? (yes I noticed the misuse of spiling weights) I suggest you ask for your money back with regards length of bowsprits, sail area and its effect on balance and speed.
WHAT?? You've got to be kidding! You're actually going to sea in that? When I saw what you were doing I immediately thought oh well, he's only going to be day sailing in sheltered waters and drinking a lot, a true weekend sailer so all the weaknesses he's built in won't matter. Hope you don't get caught out in a severe blow….

  3. Running water? Lol, OK the fridge is nice, a small vented heater, doesn't take much and being nice and toasty is really great. A cockpit table, with a awning would be great to take advantage of those nice evenings.
Owning a small boat = much fun, and easy on the pocket book.
20 is a bit tight, but you did a really nice job, she looks very swanky.

  4. And so do i my friend . The Privateer was always a gorgeous looking craft . What you have done , has made it 10 times better

  5. You have done an excellent job.
I am also busy restoring a 20' Vivacity, and yes, it's a lot of work that people don't realize, but the reward is absolutely marvelous.
I have finished the sanding of the hull and deck now, and I was wondering what specific paint you used on the upper hull and deck?
Hope she gives you many hours of excellent sailing 👌🤙

  6. I have the same boat! You are a true craftsman! My refit will never match yours, but that s Oke. The fun is in the trial and error and making it better and more beautiful as you go along!

  7. Very nice work, cute little boat. Thank you for documenting the process and putting it all together in a video. I will be attempting to renovate a somewhat similar 20ft trailerable boat soon, mostly for lake use. Can you maybe recommend a sail workshop in DE?

  8. You have turned a pretty standard old poly weekender into a precious small yacht. Fantastic job! The Privateer always was a rather interesting and nice designed boat, only let down by the rather crude and seventies idea of finish. Gone are the 'van style' carpets, in came a great wooden finish.
