  1. Check windinst. connector, could be water intrusion or bad connector that send bad values..
Check the connector that goes from the mast thru the deck and below…
and you could also do a recalibration of the system.

  2. There's a reason as to why the salt water should have a separate tap. Algae and bacteria can and will setup shop in that tap.. running fresh water isn't a disinfectant.. Anyways, do as you please.. And good luck with your adventure.. 🙂👍

  3. He may be a keeper but you need to teach him Aussie counter top! Gimme a break son a sink not a basin I know dare I say it why did I hook with an Aussie. Marty Australia

  4. So far so good. Please don't miss the Caribbean islands. Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and some of the Virgin Islands. I really enjoy your post. Take care and God bless you two in your adventure. Saludos, Juan from Puerto Rico.

  5. I think the seals may have been saying, you need a "larger" size "bow shape" shackle on the anchor, to reduce side rotation snap tension. Jaw to Jaw swivels are also available, Nexus (or similar) are great, especially re pin.

    If you want chain longevity (who doesn't);
    1. Feed chain through heavy duty Polly pipe, with fresh water spray, to flush when retrieving (also reduces deck slapping & stains). Could also setup spray on bow/nest.
(i.e. irrigation pipe, could have also been used for rod holders, no rust, clamps = move around if needed. Think that seal was also saying that).

    2. Anchor well needs Very Good air ventilation. Not much thought goes into this when boat built, may need custom vents, or leave hatch open. Rubber tube matt (like behind a pub bar) is also great (many uses), keeps chain off base, quieter, assists drainage.

    3. Occasionally – Soak in vinegar/bicarb soda mix (can do this in plugged anchor well). Spray with lanolin (when dry). Swap ends (easy at marina/jetty).
    4. If you get fed-up with stiff salty (etc) rode/lines/rope, put them in a net bag or old pillow case, laundromat hot machine wash, use fabric softener.

Has rigging been inspected? Swage looks a bit ordinary (maybe camera).
Gunna be fun if/when those spider hose clamps let go.
I wanna see Darcy with pink hair also. I mean, he picked the boat colour😉💕⛵

  6. I didn't realize you guys are going east. Definitely spend a little time in the Sea of Cortez (aka Gulf of California) before you head south. The local weather phenomenon to watch out for is the strong north wind. Try to avoid going north against it. The waves are not high but they are very steep and close together and unpleasant. Usually you don't have to wait too long for it to pass.

  7. Happy holidays and Thanksgiving from the Santana 28 dude that last guy might be right about separating those lines in my boat I'm going to have a separate foot pump line going to a separate faucet into the sink for saltwater so it all remains separate that looks like a hose bib separator I want to use real potable water ball valves just for integrity but I know all that crap is expensive so good luck you're kicking butt

  8. That’s not the correct way to tie a truckers hitch. If you guys are going to do how too videos. You should learn how to first or don’t do them leading people wrong.

  9. In case you don't already do, always have a safety lanyard attached to the Rod / Reel when the Rod is in the holder. Seen many an expensive rig lost to the ocean 😢

  10. Hi guys, it’s amazing when you want to do all these little crazy little jobs and you never get to them then all of a sudden you start to doing and you wonder why you didn’t do it and years ago or months ago anyway keep up the good work. Love your Videos , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺🧑🏾‍🦽

  11. You might want to consider a separate tap dedicated to the salt water. My understanding (and it may be flawed) is that inside the tap the saltwater can carry bacteria and an the like in any shared lines.

  12. Great episode, just one comment when you tighten a hose clamp could you use a socket rather than a screwdriver how many times you almost stabbed your hand gives me the shivers 😀

  13. Great episode again Friends and thanks for explaining the mast repair – looks solid !
Looking forward to learning more about your water maker. Yvette's hair is cool – matches the boat 😃!!

  14. Cross Pacific to French Polynesia after winter go up to the Mediterranean and Ireland than to Canada to USA to Florida than explore that area in the summer

  15. Great channel guys! Definitely want to keep salt water on a completely separate tap than fresh water. Stuff WILL eventually grow and contaminate you fresh water. Would also recommend a small pressure tank, which will greatly reduce your water pump cycles.

  16. Love watching you problem solve. You will amend your plans and will reinvent solutions over and over again. Enjoy the journey, just be safe. Don’t let too many weather windows dictate your movements.

  17. Your both right “Bench” is correct in both cases how ever a “Countertop” is specific & will only ever be a countertop [but]seeing is how you can sit on a “Countertop” so technically you are BOTH correct!🇳🇿🖖😎

  18. I love your channel. You are such basic sailors learning the ropes so too speak but I can see already what a wonderful journey you are embarking on. Going to be amazing seeing what you up too in five ten fifteen years time & how much you have improved on. But what I love the most is your beautiful personalities.
Catching up a few days late but watching with a smile on my face.
    Arohanui to you both. ❤

Ps love the hair colour Yvette.
