wrap your expensive tools in a ziplock bag with WD40 to stop the rust – so fast .Sparky outdoor trick
To drill stainless you need cobalt bits and only do a start stop applying pressure with your drill otherwise if you drill at high speed the bit gets too hot and dulls in just a minute or 2.
The true coming of age is when you need glasses. Welcome to the club old chap. Great vid.
Use a magnet to test all stainless bolts, nuts, washers and pipes and tubes. 304 grade stainless will not stick to a magnet and any other lower grade stainless will have some magnetic force and will rust.
😊👍😎🇦🇺
Interesting comments about hobby horsing, I would have thought skinny hulls would hobbyhorse more than round beamy hulls, hmmm…guess he has experienced it first hand, interesting….
Adding fuel stabaliser with every drop of petroleum/ gasoline going into the OB, is a great idea.
All drills are no good to drill stainless nightmare stuff 😂
Try using Rocol cutting compound when drilling stainless steel. Your drill bits will last longer.
How much was this boat when he bought it? How much has he put into it so far?
I said it once and I'll say it again you need to build a cabin on that boat
You need to learn how to use a grinder to sharpen your drill bits Or go buy a drill bit sharpener It's ridiculous watching you trying to drill with a drill bit that is not sharp
Do yourself a favor and use nylox and double nutted because it's going to work loose when the metal starts bending and which it will do Hollow tubes are not a good choice Use nylox Please
The mumby 48 is my dream boat!
Chuck that stupid drill sharpener overboard and learn how to sharpen the drills properly. There must be someone in the yard who can show you how.
As the boat in front rubbed and marked your hull? – see 11:14
The squeezy bulb really needs to be vertical when you squeeze it. It may work horixontal but is designed to work properly held vertically.
It's coming along great Mark, really enjoyed that video! Thank you!
good to see you back.. next project should be A deck pod
Got to admire your determination. I'm not a fan of outboards pushing cruisers but appreciate you have limited options on your boat. Whilst your mounting arrangement will be sufficient to hold the engines I'm just wondering whether they will be sturdy enough to handle the driving force in a bumpy sea. Time will tell. All part of the great adventure. Fingers crossed 😅
You’re making a great headway with this project. Keep going, loving the content and seeing you put your skills to work. 🤟
Day buy day a little bit gets done
