Finalizăm 6 cursuri de navigație și suntem înșelați de la una dintre companiile pe care am încercat să le folosim. 1. PSS is who I did my course with. Probably on the same cat. I was pretty happy with everything. We had better weather. 😂

  2. Well done, congrats on new boat. You seem organised , make sure you have your export docs which shows boat has 18 months in EU. We were boarded in France and they claimed we had to pay VAT.
Also a boat stamp is handy, Greek authorities luv them .
    Cheers

  3. A few hours is nothing. I have a friend who has a kid with his girlfriend in Europe and even then it was not easy to get a visa. Took several weeks. And best not upset the people who can make or break your acceptance. If you are perceived to be rude, they can get very anal instead of a bit forgiving. You won the battle, but then lost the war.

  4. Being English and now outside of the EU, the french in particular love they re paperwork and in general are somewhat tricky to deal with . My advice is to be as thorough as humanly possible. Good Luck

  5. Very helpful, thank you!
The courses I had already flagged for me to do here on the West coast between now and end of the year are:
    RYA Coastal Skipper – Practical

    RYA Competent Crew Course

    RYA Day Skipper Theory Course

    RYA Day Skipper Practical Course
and now I have to add:
    AMCA Marine Radio

    RYA Diesel Maintenance

    Marine First Aid
The Marine First Aid is excellent, I can see all the advantages of doing that and as you say, anyone travelling outback and remote places should consider doing it.
You guys are going to float around on your catamaran, I will be floating around on my yacht. I will watching you guys closely for anything else I can learn from you. Maybe I will catch up with you one day for a wine or two 😁
    Take care, be safe
    All the best.
    Julia ❤❤⛵

  6. Incqse your not aware,Check Australian Bilateral travel agreements, and on another note after your long stay visa you can then do another 90 days qs the 90/180 is separate to long stay visas

  7. Whoa cliff hanger ending 😂. We must be like minded, I’ve done the same courses + 1 which you’ll hope never to use but since you are putting one on your boat, consider doing the sea survival, teaching you how to get into a life raft etc… Went to the same sailing school for day skipper, mediocre experience… taught by monohull guys not experienced cat instructors. One last thing, nothing quite like having an experienced FP skipper come onboard and teach you on your own boat. EXCITING, can wait to watch upcoming episodes 👍

  8. You had an "interviews with the representatives of the French government"!? Did he mean talking to an old flirty lady at the embassy?

  9. Personally I think Australians (except Abbott and Morisson) should have permanent citizenship in every country. One, they do little harm (unless "pissed as farts" after their team loses in "footie".) And two, unlike other immigrants, you KNOW they'll leave eventually.

  10. 9:55 And this wonderful child is CORRECT! Out of all EU countries to apply for a visa to (you could have entered through Luxumberg and take a 3-hour train to Paris) you picked THE MOST bureaucratized one. It is NEVER "get it right this time" in France. OH MON DIEU!!! You filled out your papers with a BLACK PEN!?!?!? Redo the whole 50 applications and wait another 50 years before you reapply. You'd only get it worse if you entered through Italy but that's a story that I cannot tell without using bad words.

  11. 11:20 Neither 250 nor 270 times 4 makes 1100. Coming from a woman who will be homeschooling two unsuspecting children for the next few years, it's a bit worrying.

  12. Life safety is number one in any travel! You guys are well on the way to succeeding on your travels!
    ❤ from 🇨🇦 BC
