  3. Isla Saona, DR (Parque Nacional del Este) has stunning beaches lined with palm tree forests. Water is neon similar to Bahamas. Recommend. A few beaches there are trafficked by tourist day-boats from the mainland. Contact the locals to avoid or mingle. I also heard Haiti is nice this time of year 😆 Sorry couldn’t help it. Be careful gutting fish/blood on camera. Fascists will demonetize. Emily looking 🔥

  6. When fishing and catching the big fish it's best to pull up and reel down in a rocking motion forward reel down, backwards pull rod tip up. It's a lot easier and less tiring

  12. An important topic. Everyone needs to be able to control the boat and get it out of trouble. Person over board also an important one. How would you get an unconscious man back on the boat.

  13. My wife taught me to sail. She has done ocean sailing in New Zealand on her parents' boat from the age of 5 until she left home. We have been in storms on our 34 ft Beneteau in 60-knot winds off the coast of Australia, where the waves have been over 20 feet high, and she was the one who sailed the boat while I freaked out. Sailing is a beautiful sport, and whether you're male or female is not important. What's more important is your willingness to have a go and learn from your mistakes. Emily, it's good to see you giving it your all!

  18. Nice video! In case you are not aware, please google “degloving injury” and look at the horrible injuries, and consider taking off your ring. If a line or something else under load snags your rink it can rip off the skin on your finger/hand.

  19. So I would like to suggest an alternate “moral of the story” around the sail bag. Perhaps finding (and proving out) a way to make it easier for Emily to open the bag is in order. As a starting point perhaps a small loop of line attached to the zipper pull would allow a boat hook to be used.

  27. Emily, another super well done video. Perfect at telling the story. Covert Castaway is a podcast that is from a woman's perspective on moving from corporate life to live-aboard cruising. Certainly worth a listen when you have time.
