Glamping! That made me smile!😀 Another 10 for the convenience to take it out of the water and trailer it anywhere (and clean it up on the way)!
Ok I can’t be the only one that was very nervous when you were climbing around on the deck of that little boat without life lines.. 😳😳
A sailor just referred to fenders as bumpers – scandal in the archives.
If she was in Florida I would have to put in an offer. Beautiful boat and would be perfect for gunkholing around the Gulf with all of the shallow water and small islands.
I feel the inflation also, 50, come on man…
Reminds one of Nancy’s China 15 (no politics intended)
That's a sweet boat!
The likely hood of sponsorship by Dinty Moore may have dropped down a few pegs with Randy's comment about what he would and wouldn't feed his dog (Too funny). But at the same time you might start to see Alpo and Gravy train come on board. Sea dog will never go hungry.
Another great little boat. (two weeks in a row). This would be the perfect boat for exploring the Northern waters above the Florida Keys or so many lakes all over the country. Lovely companionway doors. Giving me some ideas for my little boat.
I live on a small lake in the Blue Ridge mountains of western NC, with my own boat ramp and fantastic beaches and little coves, perfect for this small boat. I love the classic look and the ones with the tan bark sails are classy. Thanks captn q and randay.
Would love to have this boat. But I’m in Australia
Thank you gentlemen for finding that beautiful MG and this lovely little boat. Some elbow grease and UnDuzIt and she will be ready to go. Have a great weekend both of you.
Great little big barn find. 🎉
Nice review!! I love the Nimble. Being a trailer sailor, landlocked in Colorado, it was on my short list but I never got to see one so,,,, very much appreciate you guys giving me a closer look. Dean
I was this 👌 close to getting the Dinty Moore sponsorship deal done for you two and you just had to go and blow it by throwing shade at them in this episode, didn't you! That's it, I'm done! 😆😅🤣
Probably the best story telling video yet. The content here is viewable a half dozen times there is so much to see. Captain Q you nailed it with the camper comment. It's classical for such a small boat though. Can't you just see this as a gift to your grandchildren one Christmas to say welcome to sailing. I would have died at 13 to have this. Treehouse privacy with a life skill training functionality. I would be tempted to buy it myself for my granddaughters but they're 3 and 1 so might be too early. It's like your first motorcycle or car , if you had an MG midget lol. Thank you so much guys for this amazing find. You are the man Captain Q.
I can't believe that this much boat (and trailer able too) is available at this price!!!
This is a superb find Captain Q!!! Thank you so much to both you and Ran-Day for continuing to show us that true deals are still out there if you know where to look!!!
The "booty shot" and then the dog!! Too funny! We have two rather large dogs that love have their backsides lightly smacked gently. The thing is that we call it "playing the 'butt bongos'". They also know the term and which end to present when we mention it.
This one won't last long!!! Great presentation. The smallest boat presented was the one Captain Q bought.
50 indeed and at the least. Considering she is trailerable everywhere (except New York, New Jersey, an Hawaii) should add another 6 or 7 points!!!
Sharpie ketch
Spartan castings?? For the oval ports?
Lots of attention to details with this owner
The only thing that could have been better about this episode Captain is that the MG wasn't an E type Jaguar. But little yawl is just awesome.
This would be nice to take out on the formerly Great Salt Lake, the last sail before it turns into the Arsenic flats.
Perfect for the Keys and Gulf coast bays.
My favorite boat only got a 17 and I bet it was on your short list too. Been raising those numbers quite a bit lately 😂
You said it twice: "yachty". Cast brass fixtures, plenty of woodwork, floor grates and wicker doors, beautiful tiller and two masts. Any owner must not be afraid to pay the upkeep dues for something classy, as shown by ownership of an MG. I do worry that the wood staining is not as easy to fix as you predict. Perhaps the owner prefers to spend more hours on the MG.
21:21 Hilarious. "This is right where you'd want this fan…" Especially after a tin of Dinty (still not a sponsor, even though I've written to them about that 😠). Sea Dog was late to the party…was he//she/they at the vet? Sweet little boat though (other than the scary non-marine looking wiring in the hanging locker), what a find!
Perfect sailing lake boat for a single or a couple…..same for the "A" for getting to the lake…
After becoming so disabled that I could no longer sail, I bought a 20’ Nimble Nomad mini trawler which used this same hull. It had been laid up with a plug in the rear to enabled mounting up to a 30 hp (I believe) outboard motor. It also had the motor enclosed with a hinged access from the top. I used a 20 hp Honda which caused the rear of the boat to reach hull speed at less than half throttle. Wish I could post a photo here.
What a sweet boat!
This is the kind of "2 fer" I identify with (the next boat needs to be 2' longer).
What a beautiful, well thought out piece of functional art.
Another great episode guys. Ran-day, nice touch with "truck backing up beeping" during forward cabin segment.
Take care of that old man he's a treasure.
This shows the Youtube crowd exactly why they should be taking note of Capt'n Q podcasts. After 4 odd years of looking at hundreds if not 1,000's of different boats and hull designes, I have to say that this one is the most unique one of them all. Is it possible for Captain Q to outdo himself in ever finding a more unique boat than this? I've already shared this video with a lot of people. Thanks
They also made a Nimble 20, same type of design. The 80,s had some great pocket cruisers, and music !
What does the trailer look like? Air brakes? What is her displacement?
I'd love to see the Captain try and get into the "cabin" on my 16 foot Cherry trailer sailer. They claim it can sleep 2 adults and 2 kids, but where i'm unsure. I slithered under the cockpit along a so called 1/4 berth and I went in head first, getting back out took a long time of twisting and bending with a lot of swearing, a near claustrophobic panic attack and after 15 minutes I was freed from it's clutches. I learnt a big lesson that day, never attempt to go in head first again, this ex bricklayers 60 year old body just ain't as supple as it once was
Alright now. I have finally "succumbed" to this post this morning. Beautiful Boat. I love it. It would go so nicely next to the Hunter in my back yard. But…. My "P.B." though would have a bigger bite into the offshore environment. As always. Huge Thank You ~~~. to you both ! 🎃⛵🎃
Would be cool to do the Erie Canal in this baby. Fantastic find Captain Q!
nice….
Hello ICW, the bridges are no problem with this
Look's like you are standing in a patch of Marijuana plants ..
With that capsize rating do you think she'd be safe to take from Florida down to the Bahamas what with having to cross the gulf stream and a hundred miles plus miles? I know you'd have to find a pretty much perfect weather window to attempt it. I also know people who've made that voyage on Hobie'Cats so there is that. Loosing one of those is not that big of a deal and you can right them pretty easily even solo. If it were capable of that crossing I think this little thing would be an awesome platform to bomb around the islands on. I know there are a lot more Dingy Sailing groups out there today and even though she isn't a "Dingy" I think she'd fit right in with some of those. Another very neat find gents and I like the Captain's scoring system it makes things much more personal and gives a glimpse into his thoughts on vessels overall…
Fair winds, following seas, safe travels and God Bless.
I love the simplicity! Excellent find! Me and my boat are together until death do us part, but other wise I would be tempted to go and live onboard until my savings ran out 🙂
He keeps say randy makes think of trailer park boys
Great Episode, "Capt'n Q is the Mary Lou Retton of small boats"
Good contortionist skills..
Captain Q and Randay, I've been watching your videos, for about 15 months now. I binge watched all of them when I first found your channel. Now I find myself chomping at the bit for every episode to be uploaded on Thursday. you guys have been a wealth of knowledge and information, and have been helping to educate me. Retired for two years now and am looking for my first sailboat. I Just have to convince my wife it would be fun. Thanks so much guys!
The Nimble Kodiak is even better. Please find one of those!
