  1. So the veredict was; nobody gives a damn about the those boats, they just took the free ride sponsored by the builders, ended up telling old sailing tales and you just made a video about it to keep appearances.

  2. You would expect the crews to at least have lunch aboard one of the boats while giving their impressions… Apparently they were more comfortable discussing past experiences in a restaurant ashore.

  3. its hard to see any merit in this review when you have people saying he had sailed his cat 45mph. it's hard to get a foiling racing cat to ever do that.

  4. I concur with many of the other comments…. this meaningless "Catamaran comparison test" video takes Yachting World to a world beating educational low! Must try harder.

  5. They stacked the stakes pretty heavily against the Cat's here. Both the FP and the Lagoon are heavy and fat designs which simply cannot perform. If they'd added something like a Outremer or a seawind into the equation I think the conclusion would have been very different.

There's definitely a compromise between performance, cost and space but the FP and Lagoon both side very heavily with lots of space and low cost meaning that their performance is trash. It's entirely possible to get a lot more performance without massively sacrificing space or cost as the mid sized performance cats have shown.
