very good!!!
Hi there Dave, could you upload a video of the theory of sailing without a rudder, im keen to give it a shot Thanks.
flying 11s are cool
Hi Jamie,
I certainly will in the next couple of weeks. Where are you from and what do you sail?
Cheers I look forward to watching it. I sail a RS Feva XL through my local Sea Cadet unit in Tauranga (NZ) it will be interesting to see if it works..
Nice 😀 Sailing without rudder is always a good way to practice boathandling. Spin around a mark without tacking or jybing is also pretty nice, but i am not shure if it works with the 29er tho :/
Yeah to do it properly you really need a headsail or spinnaker
They are so good, I want to try it myself.
is this possible in a 420?
i had to do this on a Open Bic on the Baltic Sea because my Rudder was broken?! 😀
what is the song
Bitches I rudderless sailed a bug!
Impressive boat handling.
Idiot music
matter of balance, sails, cb and moving weight fore and aft
have done it with a Lightning, Thistle and Wayfarer
easy close hauled, lots lots harder on a run
Skills!
Great sailing!
Guys. That was impressive! I've been sailing longer than the two of your years combined and although I've balanced the helm many times, I'm pretty sure I'd be no match for you at all doing this. BRAVO!
I have broken my rudder twice and both times we got back without it. Its really not that hard once you combine heel with trim to optimise speed which you need to in a race. The rudder should never be used to steer except on rare occasions. If your using it your slowing the boat down. Tacking with heel and weather helm is lightning fast and looses far less speed. Pushing a tack with rudder is a speed killer. Same with gybing. Great video.
one giant windsurfing board
I wish I could sail my 29er at that level normally
What is up with that music? I mean background noise. Very distracting and takes away from the video trainer.
