  1. I wish it would be available in better quality. This docu-film had been produced during the pre-digital era and had been recorded on VHS tape. Later on it got converted. Unfortunately theses days there are no better copies existing at all. I only found the 360 p version of Rob Voerman and the 480 p version of Dudley Dix. That's it! Nothing more. Although the documentary is not the very best, it is showing very clear what Anthony must have gone through. In difficult situations sailing can turn into a chain of nightmares if you fail in one decision only.

  2. Amazing accomplishment! Would make for a good book. Webb Chiles did a similar open boat voyage in the 80’s in a Drabscome Luggar. (Sp?) and has a great book about it.

  3. This man is to be congratulated for making the impossible possible. And whilst his amazing achievement will help others to believe their dreams can come true, nevertheless he will always cherish what he achieved and will do so for the rest of his life. It will keep his fire burning bright. He’s some kind of guy. In his own right he is a great man.

  4. This amazing man & pioneer open-boat solo-sailor should have the right to be found on the pages of Wikipedia coz I can't find him there to read his story & his adventure is only done by him alone where no one else did. Utmost Respect to you Capt. Ant Steward!

  5. This is the craziest thing I've seen, alone around the world on such a small sailboat. Strength of character, desire to survive… I have no words to describe what I feel, the only way is to do it myself… on such a small sailboat on a trip around the world, I would still afford a small cabin. Blessed be 🙏 AMEN.

  6. I've just found this video on Youtube and was delighted to know Ant completed his voyage. We met very briefly in Tahiti in late 1989 (I think) I was crewing with Theis and KiKi on Wanderer III. It all seems like a lifetime ago. I told loads of people about the crazy SouthAfrican guy in an open boat. A lot has happened for all of us since then.

  7. He sounds like he and i could have been best friends.. If only i knew him.. I'm from Cape Town.. and love sailing.. on school i would tell my friends stories of how I went sailing the past weekend on zandvlei.. I was a Naval Cadet at TSW.. my friends all thought I had this wild imagination and most of what i was talking about had to be taken with a pinch of salt.. Best Years of my life..
