1. You can always call navy coastwatch. Especialy when you pass mindanao sea, there plenty of navy coastwatch stations to give them heads up when you pass basilan strait, sulu islands, tawi tawi. You can call them on VHF ch.16 and they easily answer you

  2. It's so amazing on how you deal with the locals of that secluded island and treat you like one of their families. Glad that you make it that far. Well hope to see you guys on your next adventure here in the philippines.

  4. Eastern part of the Philippines is so safe. Filipinos there are Bisaya like me. You dont have to worry. They are friendly and protects you. Just dont go to Southwest part of Philippines its so dangerous there.

  5. I admire your adventuresome and courage to cruising the seven seas. I pray one day with the grace of God I will do the same thing. God bless you and your Man in Jesus Christ name amen.

  6. I've been to Palawan (Porto Princessa), I've been to Batanga's and Manila – Ok South Philippines has been an issue. Davao (home of DU30) has been cleaned up (by his strong arming – yes he's an evil person according to the Tree Huggers of the world, but a Hero to many Pinay/Pinoy). You will safe in Davao especially while Du30 is President.
You should be more concerned with Cebu and the Adjacent Islands, as this was a strong hold for "Isis" or independent fighters.

Palawan is a mixture of Religions (Catholic, Traditional Philippine culture and Muslim) and seems mostly peaceful, Palawan is famous for it's Pearls.

  7. Love your videos.
Can you tell us if other types of boats will make the journey , I built a 40' quad tune with a 10ft water wheel and a fold down deck , total width is 14' and it's built for river life completely off grid with w/d .
I'd love to take it to the Philippines and live on it.
Also how does one legally travel from USA to the Philippines ?

  9. After u visit a few times it really starts to grow on u. Then after u back home u start to realise home is not much of a place to live and u really appreciate the Philippines that much more. You miss it, u love it, u yearn for it, and can't wait to return and retire there. The people are what spoils a country, but not in the Philippines. Even the naughty ones u begin to understand them and still love them.

  10. The longer we are away from the country the more i miss it. Lucky for me I'm getting old and soon hope to retire there. Requires money and i can't expect to get work there.

  11. When you go to another's territories it should be a must that one shall know theirs.
Bcoz i think is a must for a foreigner/s should do a research for that specific adventure, hey! It's just a basic dudzzz…
By the way will come to a country that redeemed it's national and international indentity due to our current good Pres Duterte…

  12. I've been all over the Philippines even to mindenao I never had a issue, it's far more safer than the red sea route near somalia that you plan on taking and many places in northern south America and africa.

  13. Treasure hunter Bob Marx once told me that when they were diving a wreck off one of the islands of the Philippines they had onboard two Thompson submachine guns (aka Chicago pianos, Prohibition .45 caliber 600 rounds/minute) to use against any pirates. They had a few close calls. (I don't plan on ever taking anything like that on board.)

  14. Davao is very safe to visit… ON LAND. I can't speak for what it is like boating but most attacks happen outside of Davao City Limits. This is from living in Davao as a white person for a year.

  15. I have lived in Palawan since 2015. My wife is from the south of Palawan where groups like New Peoples Army and Abu Sayef exist. Above Mid Palawan/Puerto Princesa there is little danger from those sources.
We now live in Araceli on the Sulu Sea , it is 50 miles off the beach. The beauty is stunning , the wind strong from Dec to March. Good windsurfing and kiting with 16-30 kts daily avg.in season.. I sail alone and seldom see another person. There are 7 uninhabited Islands within 20 minutes at 12 Kts, all are free and open. It is possible to live here on $500 a month or less. We rent an apt for $50 a month incl electricity. USA offers few of these advantages at 10-20 times the price. A 39ft 2 diesel boat costs $2300 new and complete…You can go large or small. A 20ft single gas boat is $600 new and complete.
We are in Baja,Mex now, enjoying the Sea of Cortes because it offers better values , comfort and sporting opportunities than USA , I dive and fish daily and windsurf weekly. Water temps are down to 70F. Anyone can do it……..

  16. Don't worry near future philippines will acquire subs and destroyers. The abu sayyaf, pirates and terrorist lair will be a good target practice for precision guided tomahawk missile.

  17. Drinking tuba with the locals is the way to go. You two have an accommodating & friendly spirit and sense of adventure that will get you invited to a local's house as a guest. That's the best way to visit the Philippines.

When I was visiting Quezon province the farmers/fishermen were fermenting and distilling tuba to make a local moonshine called lambanog. We had a night long drinking session with lots of food, just hanging out Filipino style. Freshly distilled lambanog is a bit harsh. I brought some back to the US and stored it in an old wine bottle for a 18 months… it was much smoother after aging. Can't wait to get some more.

  18. new subs, here from Philippines 🙂 , its amazing i saw your boat passing Loreto bay my hometown part of Dinagat Island, neighboring island of suluan, yeah its safe to sail in central Philippines its like the sea highway of the vessel crossing countries. 🙂

  19.
