Most boarding pirates won't attack a boat that is armed with gun(s). Fake mounted machine guns are possible too lol – funny but scares them to hell. Your setup isn't bad but not sufficient. CO2 is an anesthesic so fast that it take only one breath to render anyone unconscious. Of course xontinued use would sufficate them but they would already be incapacitated.
   This was discovered decades ago in a central african village investigators when to find out what happened to a village where the only survivors lived on the 2nd floor or on hills.
   Nearby was a lake know to be saturated with CO2. one day a rock or something rolled into the lake disturbing this already saturated carbonated water and it began frothing like a soda drink
   Being heavier than air, this gas flowed thru a valley to the village. A father walking his young son wondered why his son passed out. when he bent down to help he immediately passed out they must have been on the edge of this gas as they managed to breath. however many of their village weren't so fortunate and suffocated while everyone on 2nd floors or up high survived.
   that's how we found out Pure CO2 immediately incapacitates people.
   it is a useful concept to know when dealing with dangerous individuals you need no weapons and he'll be unconscious before he knows it.
