Have no doubt…The ocean will chew u up and spit u out then shred u to pieces… Life jackets always in rough weather or unsure conditions. I captained many boats, mostly solo. The ocean doesnt give second chances. Always be prepared!!
They're goats, not deer, I've been on that island and shot them, we later butchered them and cooked them up on a barbecue on the beach

The capability of that boat may well have saved your lives, because you were mostly clueless on many levels on this little trip. I hope you gain safety knowledge fast, and learn the boat quickly. It's fun watching you guys but please be careful. Thanks for sharing.

That was a close one, many lessons learned for sure. All these comments also apply when you see possible bad weather approaching. It will be way too late if your reaching for a life jacket or trying to trim sails during a 50mph squall. The boat becomes a handful instantly. We all have had a few close calls, so just do what you did: Keep your head and sail the boat. Nice job!
Good vid. I guess the crossing was a good test of your hull patching abilities and it looks as though they came through just fine.

Everything that needs to be said has been said but on a side note how cool is Emily, in all your vids the girl is a rock as well as being talented and CAN surf,,, love your stuff and what your doing, listen to the oldies and enjoy

Pro sailors would have all had life jackets on. You learned a good lesson. Odds of recovering a man overboard, with no life jacket, in those seas? About zero. One big washover wave…
Maybe you can pick up a life jacket manufacturer sponsor. Not just you, but sailing vids are setting a horrible example for life-and-death safety issues. La Vagabond comes to mind.

I’ve seen some dumb things and done some even dumber things yet this takes the cake. Never, ever risk anyone else’s lives lives on the water. It’s not just yours and the crews life’s at stake it’s the poor people who have to come rescue you too.

The Pearl and the Man. Make it about you and the boat and the sea. …and your friends. Love your boat. You should post it on the Wharram Catamaran Facebook group. I think they would love to see it also. Many builders may want to integrate your hull profile into their design. I would. Now that I've seen the Pearl, I wouldn't want to build a Wharram any other way.
