Your courage and determination will win you through! Nothing can stop you!
Wow, never seen anything like that canting keel. Amazing stuff.
I really think this boat is a horrible idea especially for a woman.
Gran barco. La mejor de la suerte y buenos vientos.
Great video. Good luck
Vent des globes ? Vendee Globe makes you look like idiots.
So much respect for you! Good luck, you are a legend already now!
Awesome vid! Cheering for you, Pip!
is there a reason the boat doesn't have a shield or something to smooth over the canting keels opening on the bottom of the hull? Surely some sort of shield that moved with the keel would improve the speed if it is becoming like a washing machine in there
Awesome walkthrough. Appreciate and best of luck.
Would be a good idea to add some cover around the opening of the canting keel, as that will slow the boat down significantly (the washing machine sound isn't free).
Rubber lips mounted flush with the outside surface should do a great job there.
Respect!!!
Inspirational! Loved the tour of this boat and some of the systems. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more.
As if she's attempting to win Paris-Dakar with a modified 2CV. I''m rooting for Pip this edition of the VG.
Fantastic tour of your beautiful boat. Have a great race.
So brave, so gutsy – what an inspiration. I will be following you and rooting for you all the way, Pip. Ritzy glitzy doesn't always win, slow and sure might!
A really tough girl! Good luck Pip!
YOU GO GIRL!
pip i wish i could comment directly but im rooting for you. the ladies of my life use your name and hero together often.
Great walk through Pip.Seems to me simplicity is reliability.I wish you fair wind and look forward to seeing you get the 'old girl' around the globe.
What happened to initiative couer. Or is that Sam davies
Pip, wonderful to watch you, and absolutely willing you along. Amazing Lady, and a role model for any woman. Thanks for being there.
The boat looks vintage compared to some of the others, you are doing an amazing job in the race, a real inspiration for many out there, live the dreams
I do not envy her having to sail this imoca around the world… absolute legend
Wish you the best of luck!
Brilliant video…."This is my protection" points to a 3ft open porch area in the cockpit..crikey. Incredible. Amazing woman! And what an amazing competition…! I have ultimate respect for these sailors…
Amazing to see inside the boat like that. I didn't know any boats on the VG fleet didn't have all the sheet going back to the cockpit! Very hardcore. Thank you for sharing!
SEA WOLF !
Special person! Following your race all the way – go safe
Wow, so exciting!
As the foilers drop out, Pip may find her and Le Cam the last two standing! True SeaWolf!
Yes I love hand steering as well but after 12 hrs on the tiller (auto pilot is stuffed) i get a bit tired. Following you along with many other Sea Wolves (current date 27th dec 2020) and you are in 17th (south of aukland island)14 miles behind Arnaud Boissieres. Keep the pressure on …… HOOOOWWWWWLLLL from the sea wolf pack.
this is so interesting. explains a lot of mysteries in how such boats are operated. In a race like the vendee surely simplicity and reliability play very well. good luck
Amazing woman. You have a new fan.
Following along. Go on Pip.
Don't worry pip , the boat is not aware of its age .!
Now, five months on, we KNOW how tough both boat and skipper are.
Love that boat. The simplicity makes for no excuses.
