Why build such a strong bluewater catamaran without a protected helm position? How are you supposed to man the helm while getting out of bad weather?
That helm position is an absolute NO for ocean crossings.
Looks amazing! What happened to that Garcia SC 48 cat from 2015? Is it still on production?
How (degrees off True Wind) close to the wind can the Explocat sail when beating Up-wind?
Ready to sail price?
It would have been nice to see the inside of the boat
How much of the used aluminium has been recycled? 60%?
52 feet ,18 tons . In foam sandwich it could be 4 tons. N ice boat but not light .
If being an explorer cat.. why the extremely exposed helm positions?
One thing I see with 99% of catamaran manufacturers is that they will not declare upfront which diesel propulsion system their catamarans have – shaft drive or saildrive. You actually have to ASK whereas the other 1% of catamaran manufacturers declare upfront without you having to ask.
sail drive ..Or Shaft ???????
Love the cat but still not a fan of steering from the sugar scoops.
Didn't notice an entertainment system in the salon (t.v., speakers, etc…]; isn't' that important for live aboards?
But, if Pete loves it, so do I!
Beautiful catamaran Garcia!
If the lottery gods ever smile upon me, Garcia will be my first phone call!
Awesome boat! Guys is the 52ft the biggest or you working on larger already. All spec what would the the 52 cost?
This almost pure. Fluff. Very little usable information.
Absolutely love this boat
This is it, this is the one!
Why saildrives on a yacht like this ?
Why not shaft drives ?
❤❤❤❣
Interesting and beautiful yacht! I wonder how she points without daggerboards. I might be conservative, but you should be able to sail alway from a leeshore if the engines fail. Anyway stunning boat…
Super exciting
If I ever win the Powerball ya'll have made a sale.. lol
the front windows are a shortage should be more swepped for wave and wind
But wait, why so short? Last time Pete Goss did a full intense show of what the Garcia 45 were. Now just pitch it in 3 minutes and its Done? Disappointed!
Each selling point could be explained in detail, show the manual, show the watertight features, show everything! Bah why this quick? Garcia Boooo
Really beautiful cat. And really impressed that they went with aluminum for the build. Makes so much sense. Now, just put the helm at the front of the salon like a Gunboat, and it would be perfect. Thanks for sharing!
pete goss c'est un bateaux Français merci de parler français a moins que Garcia préfère vendre cest bateaux ailleurs
The avoid the weather comments are nonsense. With good speed you can usually avoid the worst of the weather.
Implying you can always avoid the weather is ridiculous, it almost always moves faster than you, you're reliant on good wind to avoid the weather and the path is unpredictable so even if you get good wind and do everything right, there's still a good chance you end up in it.
That being said this looks to be one of the best built boats on the market for storms. No self-tacking jib and a solent rig mean it will do weather helm very well and the aluminium structure will be more resilient than most.
Mono Hull ore multi Hull Pete?
This could be the right boat for me. Stable and comfortable on long passages. Good in shallow waters. Carries lots of water toys. Excellent storage space for supplies. My best choice so far.
Beautiful yacht, tho i dont know why you went with sail drives, shaft drive is better especially since its a bluewater yacht?.. is it semi custom? Can i choose to add shaft drives if i make an order? Can i have hybrid propulsion? With a hydroregeneration system like an oceanvolt and more solar panels and electric engines. I'm contemplating wether to place an order but i would like for this yacht to be able to be self sufficient and off grid without having to even go into a marina.. i would also love to see something like this in the 40ft to 45ft range
