1. Realizing that the boat would be two adults and up to two kids up to ~ age 9…small kids, clothing, etc. You can reframe your thoughts on size for the last two. Big oceans, think sailing capability.

  2. Brilliant idea ( looking for the ' right ' boat). Saves me… the time I'd spend to check out a boat for myself. But also gives one the idea what to look for. Especially now you guys are experienced sailors

  3. If you would have pulled up those cushions out there where they sit down and eat there's a lot of storage areas in there Celtic relock for 5 years and as far as going out in the ocean I wouldn't want any other boat far as putting the family on there no not me for families

  4. The prices of boats in USA is huge for what you get! Consider to buy your boat in Italy, as Riley did coming from Australia to get “La Vagabonde”. You can find many robust boats built in the 80s or 90s for a fraction of the price! Look at Grand Soleil 43 JJ, Genesi 43, some old Bavarias are also solid boats…

  5. Kids will adapt. They don’t need a table to eat at. When they’re small they often are on your lap.
If you nurse your babies they may not be interested in solid food for a couple years.

  6. The amount of room and "seperate heads and showers, room to entertain etc,etc you either need a Catamaran or a house. Ive watched loads of your vids and below 40 or 50 feet you wont find what you "want". Or check out Beneteau, jenneau or Ideally Salona (if you have the cash.

  7. This is a great video. Great information. I video is great, you really show this boat well. Thank you. I am excited to see the rest of boats you are looking.

  8. Had a boat with a wooden tiller, ( 8 yrs.) had to replace it twice and it needed to de replaced when I sold – it ps it broke once when I was sailing ( had an old spare in the sail locker) good luck – retired with 9 grandkids

  9. This boat is gorgeous. but he's a big guy. Trim. but tall. and they're planning on two kids. and we know how fast they grow! its just too small for their purposes. they're looking for 1990+ build probably because of design but also you do not wanna work for 5 years to get the thing ship ready. he also wants to sail fast but be extra seaworthy and that's a contradiction of terms. you want HEAVY not light for extensive off shore.

  10. So I am a G I A N T, (taller than 98% of men) trying to fit in a sailboat. AND how tall our my kids going to be. The trend is kids are growing taller than their parents.

  11. Jeezus H mate! At least find out if you're firing blanks before planning if the boat is big enough! You might end up with a boat too big for just two of you…

  12. Hi! It's been a couple months since I've followed… beginning of S05. I just wanted to say hello and I'm glad now that I get to binge your boat selection.

My little Haida has gone through a lot in the last few months, as we have moved, but she hasn't.

The idea was to use her as an apartment and work on her when I needed to be over that way.

She lost an anchor, blah blah blah… you know the routine. No damage done, she's a mess and now is the time of year to start putting some real work into her.

Anyways, good seeing you again. Aloha 🌈

  13. Superb priority list. My firts sailboat was a 1969 Cal 29 with a gas engine roller furling on the head-sai and boom furling for the mainsail. My second and last sailboat was a New Challenger 35 Ketch which was wonderful under sail or as you said passage-making on Lake Ontario both in the US and Canada, at anchor or at the dock. She arrived in 1996 and I sold her, in 1995, to A Canadian family with 2 girls, I had 2 boys 7 & 11 when they first started sailing.. We put her, her name was Challenger, in the water April 1st every year, sailed her someplace every weekend all spring, summer and fall and pulled her November 1st. What a wonderful life.

  14. Pacific sea craft even though its a 37 might be great for one looking for a smaller boat like one looking at under 30' might want to look at a seacraft37

  15. Its is a gorgious boat would be great for adventure as for living full time seems more better for go out from florada to Hawaii for a month and pull it out go back to work and use it next year too small for living
