  1. I see the kiwis got 86 cents for every dollar spent on hosting the event, doesn't sound too bad until you see how much they spent and that was just the amount wasted on being hosts. There was also the money wasted on the team and development of the boat.

  2. That's the downside of foiling and going really faster than the wind. Enjoying the Community all though. Boaters mit leave boaters alone in desaster. Great Job after all, really.

  3. nice to see the US letting other people have a chance at winning, esp. the America's cup, very sportsman like 🙂 , yippee kay yo M F**R's die hard!!

  4. Just get the dam boats off the foils. America's Cup and other Races, already ruined by Marketing. Quit moving marks to keep the boats driving at their fastest what a phoney race.

  5. You listen to a passionate sailing fan to stop the boat from ( capsizing ) use a drogue shoot fired from the stern of the boat deploying shoot that will stop it that fast from capsizing sir

  6. NZ did far more than help rescue this vessel.
They opened up their manufacturing facility to the US and built new CF panels to replace those ripped out during the crash.
Don't think this would happen in most other sporting arenas!

  7. Foil breach…. then capsize…. Thanks for posting! This is a result of over-engineering by humans who are too biased by their own tech success/engineering, and refuse to observe that evolution does it better. At least they stopped putting foils on "wave piercing hull" aka displacement catamarans. Although it was a bit of fun watching those do the brick-wall-pitchpole.

  8. A quick review of the comments shows that none of the commenters understand the fluid dynamics involved here… neither does the poster. All good. Sail on, my good sailors – may you always have the seas on your quarters, sail with following seas, blah, blah. lol.
