1. Just wondering why your so hung up about the discrepancy between LOA compared to the length at waterline. First thing on a person list should be thing is how it sails. Even if they are on a budget. A smaller waterline is less drag right? Faster hull speed means keeping ahead of rough weather. Tall sails with short water line means it's more powered . What about ballast to displacement and how tender a boat is. AVS and STIX etc. A boat with equal LOA and waterline doesn't mean it's a good sailer. No point buying a boat if you later not happy with how it sails.

2. Not too long at all. I personally think you could go longer and in more detail on each boat / model. I’ve enjoyed all the videos and look forward to them each day in this series. 👍🏼👍🏼

3. I like the videos. They have helped. I’m going to sign up to your member area. I’m a about a year, or a year and a half out from buying a boat. I know you say not to go all out in the beginning, but I want to. I’ve had plans to move to the Caribbean for 15 years, it only hit me recently that getting there by boat solves a ton of problems and makes it a million times cooler. I have medium size dogs that can’t go on a plane. I’m looking for something in the $100k-$150k range, 40ft. A safe aft cockpit. Two helms, two cabins. 5 ft of draft or less. If I could find a boat with wood on the top it would give the dogs more space to walk outside. I cold call and for living and work on my computer. I’m wondering how good of internet I could get in different areas in the Caribbean anchored by shore, or docked in a harbor. Looking at Hawaii too. The dogs wouldn’t like that trip as much. I live in Portland. I’ll sign up for you deal this weekend. Thank you!!

5. Interesting bluewater debate here in the comment section. I own a Tartan bluewater boat but I love Benneteaus for what they are built for. I believe that I would have been better served with a newer spacious Benneteau for the type of sailing I do. The production builder "Benneteau" builds boats for less because of their, 1/ manufacturing processes. 2/ Huge purchasing power of all components. 3/ Multi-million dollar C n C computers that save labour costs. 4/ 130 years of manufacturing experience. Benneteau simply passes all of these savings onto the consumer and that is occasionally misconstrued as a cheaply built boat.
   Ignore the bashers because they are a minority. At the end of the day, the real winners are the sailers who are having the most fun with their pride and joy boats.

8. Thanks for the video. The amount of information you deliver is amazing so keeping the number of different models discussed and at the same time adding a more in-depth look (longer length) would be just fine by me. I don't watch these videos with the expectation that they're geared for those with a short attention span.

17. Got to sail the Dufour 455 last week. Really nice fast boat. With a total head count of 7 adults on board it was at full capacity. Easy boat to sail.

22. Good video! I've been looking and the Dufour 430 for a couple years now, their still out of my price range but hoping they will start coming down as used models come on the market. What drew me to the Dufour is the quality of construction over some of the other new boats and great, creative layouts that maximize space.
