I have to say, I loved the cinematic colourgrading. Even with natural colours your productionquality is really high, but I prefer your look with the cinematic colours!
When can we see the Hebrides Scotland video?
cinematic colours make your videos, it looks great in 4K on a 75" TV
Thank you Erik enjoyed the ride, Odin be with you, Steve from New Zealand.
Build a viking long boat and sail that.
I see it the same way concerning the harness, one thing is theory where it makes sense, but in practice it can be in the way and to pick it in you need a hand that can be missed to hold yourself.
Great content and the colour choices aren't a deal breaker, I would watch your videos anyway!! I Sailed with one crew member from Tortola to the Azores via Bermuda and solo from the Azores to Portugal then with two crew up to England/Holland and didn't use a harness more than a few times. The freedom to move about and carry out jobs without the tripsnag hazard is quite often safer I feel. All-out personal choice at the end of the day. keep up the great work and stay healthy!
When I was at sea fishing on the west coast of BC Canada, I never wore a harness or line because we didnt have one, plus youre right it would get in the way and catching shit and stopping you from properly doing your tasks and it would make it more dangerous. Thank you Erik, this channel brings back a lot of good memories. I love it on the ocean.
I have got a suggestuon to tge colouring:
How about colour grading the cinematic shots (drone footage/big camera footage), and leqving the vlog shots naturally coloured?
Great videos! Love it! Keep it up! Thanks!
natulig farge var best 😀
<3
I totally get and admire both the premise of the channel and the format of the videos. Very cool indeed by especially combining both sailing culture and Norwegian history and culture. I dig that you exposed the viewers to Norway’s maritime communities.
I really like your cinematic colors when talking about your heritage and why you sail. You seem like a person that was born a thousand years late! I also like to true colors when showing the landscape and villages. Awesome videos though.
Natural colour ! Keep pushing !
I've come to enjoy the cinematic approach and it's become your style which sets you apart from other, but it was nice to see natural colors on this one.
The natural colors are better at displaying the natural beauty of the scenes you are filming.
My vote is for the cinematic colors. It gives your channel a film-like / documentary style look. It's your style!
Your cinematography is great, make it the way you want.
Thanks – I love your videos,; have always wandered what's the size of your boat?
you do you Eric for the harness. natural colour was good but i think i liked the cinematic.
I think with the safety harness one should do it, like you feel. I think you know the risk especially, when you are sailing single handed. If youu fell one with the boat and the sea then fuck on the schoobooks,
By "Vikings" I suppose you mean "Northmen". Vikings were rapists, murderers and thieves. Excellent video production by the way, I love it infinitely more than the usual "cruising in the Caribbean" sailing
Most people probably don't even realize the effort you put just in the audio… drones can't record audio because of their props noise, so you have recreate all the audio in the drone footage… Great attention to detail!
Vem para o Brasil
Seria uma honra conhecê-lo
Inspiring adventure
Keep the colors the way they were, your videos are mesmerizing and beautiful.
Perhaps shortened tethers May work for you!
I'm late to commenting on the colors, but I don't really care. I get so wrapped up with the action of what you're doing, the color's "hue" doesn't matter to me. I like color more than black and white.
However, I do like your narration. The thing I like about your channel (and "Adventures of an old sea dog" channel) is that you both say what you're thinking and how you're feeling. I like that better than a channel like "Sailing Project Atticus" which seems to put on more of a show. Atticus is great channel, I just like raw feelings more than a show… for what any of this is worth…
natural colors better! What a nice bit of history and info, thank you.
Suggestion for Jack lines on your Contest. Run a line under your boom goose vang aft to your back stay. It won’t get caught, use your deck Jack lines for foredeck weather tasks…
Your films are brilliant and I love watching them. I've had a lot of fishing holidays in the lovely Norway and Ive loved every bit of it and these films remind my why! Best wishes for your next adventures and I look forward to seeing them. Best wishes.
Just excelent 👍👍😊👏👏☘️☘️🎄
I need a sailor to sail not my father Erik. And I need a sailor not a sheet. Kisss
Hey Erik ! I'm a solosailor too and I use the vest and the safetyline just the way you do ! I totally agree with your arguments ! Hope you're feeling better with your health problems !! Glad to see all the videos I miss before watching Your Big Greenland Trip !! Keep it on ! NBJS !! Loïc from Brittany
I'm a daysailor. I've never sailed out at sea other than on motor yachts, but when I see someone on deck who's not clipped in I think of the possibility of a rogue wave surprising them, knocking them overboard… and then the thought of the boat sailing away without them.
Arrived at Kvitsøy today due to your video! Thanks for the inspiration!
