My family use to have a 52ft yacht custom built in Canton, Ohio. Was put in the Erie canal and floated to the Florida Keys. Those were the days. It was a documented vessel named The Jeri Jo! It was destroyed in a Hurricane!!

First let me say I do enjoy your channel. As someone who has done hauling with conventional trailers, also run hydraulic marine trailers, been in the marine industry for a very long time, I have to call you guys out on this one. A hauler should know better than to rely solely on the winch strap or cable to hold the vessel during haul out. As the boat settles onto the rear bunks the nose lifts and puts a lot of leverage onto that strap. The trailer should have a safety chain and hook on the winch mast ( which is missing here) as a back up for just such a situation. Straps or ropes can also be used/ secured around the winch mast, during haul out as well. Notice the winch strap color, the trailer has been sitting in the sun for a long period ( as many do). The strap is all bleached out in the first 2 feet of so, from there it is bright yellow. This color change is from UV damage. The strap was significantly weakened by this. Just like to see things go well for you guys.

Wow! Can you imagine that strap breaking in the middle of uphill on a public street?
I'm not sure why people take chances without redundancy. Besides a single strap, a secondary strap, cable, or chain should be mandatory by law.
I use redundancy even when transporting my Jet ski.
Lack of common sense is what forces authorities to make more and more regulations!
