Before your next trip to a big city, do yourself a favor. Find someone who has lived in a very large city and ask what to do if you want to visit cities that are not upper middle class safe places that you are probably used to. I always kept my money in my sock, and being a women I did many other things to keep myself safe.

Barcelona is notorious. I was lifted by two guys and lost a camera and cash on las Ramblas. Don't go!
We are in Barcelona currently, so glad we took a taxi tonight back to our hotel, its cost us more than walking but your and others videos has really had me thinking of not walking late at night, as we were driving we saw a lot of suspicious looking people around!
We had a good time but doubt I will be back, the city is a bit dodgy to me, I enjoyed Madrid and Seville way more and some of the smaller places we went to

Barcelona is a very dangerous place to be after the sun goes down specially around Las Ramblas the arrabal is the side street off Las Ramblas pickpockets is very common but now is getting very aggressive and violent , the African asylum-seekers and gypsies. you’ve got to be very careful to watch for those people, l believe everything you said , and the police is so inefficient because this happened all the time to the tourist

A very good decision not to fight. The first time I was in Barcelona was in 1999 and back then there were no bad apples and if you know what I mean. Now this city has a completely different vibe, there are practically no Catalans in sight. I visit Barcelona regularly and I really miss the past years when you could easily walk to the port or Bari Ghotic. I'm going there again in January. It is a beautiful city…
Sorry to hear about this. If outnumbered you did right in just handing over everything. In general Europe is pretty safe but thieves do target watches and phones. Just leave the watch at home. Pickpockets and scooter thieves target people using phones for navigation when they stop to cross a road. Best advice is if you need to consult your phone go stand away from the crossing with your back to the building.
Be aware of the bird poop scam, they throw bird poop at you and then offer to take you to get cleaned up, steal your wallet take the bank cards, and put the wallet back al while they are helping you clean up,.

I did 😢well I went to the zoo and some of my family but my mom was in the hotel sick so the police finally let us in the room and we stayed and then 2 days later 1 of them said they want to be a janitor in the hotel and robed us at least non of us had harm
