1. Thanks for sharing these proper sailing images! Your reasoning on consumer impact is, to my opinion, bang on. Our decisions on all aspects of life are the vote!

  2. hi guys. I love your videos. if you go on pilot shop there is a travel sickness watch. it's battery powered. but works really well.

  3. Oh great, I was happy to understand – barely – what sailors say and WHY they do difficult passages and stuff, but this video has ruined my record. 🙂 Love it Vernon and Mary! THANK YOU!

  4. I think you are a bit of a selfish sailor especially when your girlfriend doesn't like the rough seas and being heeled over like that, compromise is the name of the game sunshine.

  5. Now that is some serious sailing and heel! Im learning by doing myself, new to sailing and can just picture myself there and how I would feel the thrill and fear at the same time, awesome!

  6. Good vid Vernon. Love your episodes. Not a big fan of the fish eye, curved effect (I call it banana filter, lol).

  7. Brilliant to see your smiles! So 'appy for you. 😍
Sailing is highs and lows and you both deal with them beautifully. 👌
Looking forward to meeting you here in NZ👍

  8. Awesome video guys.. great to see the Deck brothers out together!
Marie I feel for you.. reminded me of the time I went on the back of Vernon’s 4 wheeler on a sawdust pile when we were kids. Never again. But in this case Vernon you looked more or less in control.. although open water hatch come on?? !
temperature of water was 21degrees?! Surely thermometer was water 💧 proof!?
Great video look forward to hear more about where you going 👍

  9. Marie, about the trip to New Zealand, we find after one or two days at sea we stop fighting the movement of the boat, and our bodies become one with the boat, so hang in there, it works out.

  10. Beauty beat back into Airlie mate! I've done that exact same leg from Hook Island to Airlie in identical conditions in a 45ft cruiser about 8 yrs ago. Loved it! Ripper! Your boat tracks so well upwind too. Lovely.

  11. If you reef until you’re no more than 25 degrees heel, you’ll go just as fast but also make much less leeway and be more comfortable. It’s a win, win, win

  12. Love the high wind sailing! Brings back wonderful memories of being the only sailboat on my local lake when conditions weren't favorable. Definitely exhilarating and exhausting at the same time.
    Thanks for sharing!! ❤️⛵️

  13. My 2 cents.
I met a French guy years ago in Brisbane.
    His wife was absolutely wonderful.
Needless to say you made a good choice in a man.
But don't be disappointed in Australian or N.Z men, both can come across as.. "over testosterone".
The French guy I met was a Chef named Michelle Bonette with a restaurant in Caxton Street. Brisbane.
His EX-wife worked at Jimmy's on the mall and to this day leaves a lasting impression on me about the true French people.
She was the kindest most considerate person that I have ever met in Australia.
He however was like a spoiled child as a chef in the kitchen. Throwing a tantrum with pots and pans.
viva la, well.. both of you.
    Lots of love.

  14. Great video! That heeling would make me nervous, but I can see you are at ease and comfortable and in control! I hope one day to be more at ease with it myself, but we are still newbies. We did our haul out last week, nice new antifouling, a big week and a learning curve but now ready for sailing again!

I love that shopping at the markets. I've just started with a fruit/veg delivery service that saves produce the supermarkets don't want. I'm trying to get away from the Coles/WW big supermarkets.
