  1. 50 ft , tall mast meets your need for speed ? But will heel and M doesn't like that part of sailing , would a ketch design make a difference, more smaller sails .easier to manage , less red for electric winches and furlers, halyard . , filling a engine room with everything else can be a pain , it's either got to take up a lot of internal room , or be clutter? Trying to work on something when the engine is still hot , why not make use of say the transom area a door access the water maker , ?

  2. Looking good around the farm and barn. You guys are making it your own. Thanks for showing us some early designs on your boat build. Really enjoy your videos!

  3. Another way of secure your keel is with a aluminium frame bolted to large transverse wooden

laminated floors over say 500 mm centres and 4-5 meters length ways. The keel is bolted to the

aluminium frame which distributes the load of sailing and a grounded

The aluminium frame could also secure the rig and stays.

It would need to be engineered correctly. Done carefully it should be a lighter option plus giving you a better keel shape

  4. Have you watched Salt & Tar videos? They built their wood boat and are now sailing. I believe you would find it interesting. Good luck to you both!

  5. That's so fantastic that you are working with Ulf. I was under contract to buy a beautiful Scandi 52 near Stockholm, in 2020 right before Covid started. Sadly, Covid made the deal impossible, and I had to walk away from it. Really cool design, I still get sad sometimes that I couldn't buy it. I ended up buying a Farr 50 Pilothouse, which has some similar features but has inferior pilothouse/deckhouse visibility, but part of me will always regret not getting the Scandi.

  6. We spent a few years to refit a boat in a barn in western Sweden starting around the year 2000. A few lesson learned; when the barn is being painted, everything inside will get red stripes. Do not paint the top coat when the fields are being harvested unless you want a very matte and grippy finish. A roof hoist is very helpful to move equipment and move material. If I had started the project today I would invest in a cnc router that can take full sheets of plywood. I can set it up for you if you want 🙂
