Detaliul distractiv despre povestea noastră este că barca pe care am cumpărat-o se scufunda și se baza pe multe pompe de santină pentru a supraviețui, așa că a trebuit să o ridicăm pe uscat pentru a începe o reparație completă. Odată ce barca a fost ridicată (pentru prima dată în viața ei) ne-am dat seama că munca necesară a fost mult mai mult decât se aștepta. Între eliberarea sau acceptarea provocării, am decis să alegem a doua variantă. Rather than connect all the tanks together, connect them all to a common manifold with a shut off valve on each tank connection to the manifold , this enables you to select what tank you want to use. You will probably have to get the manifold built to your own specification .
You can use some four inch (100mm ) stainless tube for he body of the manifold with an inlet and outlet threaded stainless nipple per tank.
Shorten the length of the bowsprit witch will reduce the angle of the forestay the more you shorten the forestay the better the angle of curler will be.
How do you know the drop from the bow spirit is not good, if you've never done it? 🤔

For the Bow Sprit go back to old fashion ideas, Use netting. can also be used as a sun bake area. Means also you have a safe area to work on the roller furling.

Great progress!!! Another idea to put some kind of vapor prevention membrane between the cement ballast and frames to prevent constant wicking between the two as they try to equalize hydrostatic imbalance for an environment that is always in constant flux of moisture change. The paint will help a bit but will eventually crack under cement pressure points.

Fun fact: a bunch of historical cities of Brazil are paved with balast stones that came with portuguese boats around 1500.. São Luiz in Maranhão is one of that…
That smelly wood looks to be 'Ocotea corymbosa' (canela-fedorenta, canela-merda, stinkwood). It's a very durable Brazilian wood, but it has a terrible smell.

I know the forestay is slack and the fuller will bind more, but the weight of the sail and your weight on the sprit provide significant tension on the furler cable/forestay. Watching the effort necessary to unfurl that sail even with the assistance of the sail being pulled. Man I hope you look at your furlers, get them out of the elements and lubricated. They are meant to be used, that's maintenance for them. Sitting idle in the salt air does little good for anything. I think it would be worth looking into some used metal scaffolding sections. The boat yard could certainly make use of them in ways I can't even imagine. Perhaps we viewers would contribute to a fund raiser to gift such equipment to Yaba and the boatyard. A few sections of easily assembled scaffold would make a nice platform to service the bow sprit and furler.
Amazing chaos and efficiency with lots of hard work, it's exciting watching the boat become Yaba again.
